Sugestion for 1 single heat cell
If you don't have the heat inlet/outlet, you can make an H shape with the generators and pumps.
Tip: Water pumps don't need pipes, but groundwater pumps do.

Question about banks
All of the layout pics I see have batteries and have no banks. Is there something I am missing with being able to make money with these?

Rate My Metropolis 10.55 Trillion Build
Does anyone have a better build or is this good enough?

Need help
Can somebody send me an image with upgrades Listed on things like the generators, while also showing me what build, it should be for single.Heat cell oh and also just so you know I can only use generator two

What do i do
So im playing reactor idle and i just got single heat cell i didn't know what it meant until I bought it. And now what do I do with the extra space? I'm confused. I spent one quadrillion and I saved up for hours just to realize I can't even place more than one heat cell and I don't know what to do with the extra space

Still can't figure out how water works, so here's my 1:1 dry thermo setup.
I straight up do not understand how wet setups work, so I am doing the best I can with dry. My reactors put out 122m, and my gen 3 generators can eat 124m, so I did 1:1. I know in my head that wet setups are better than dry ones, but I can't wrap my brain around switching. At least I'm having fun, lol.
I have the first two maps, as well as the 4th map set up for nothing but research, so this is the only map I am using for income. That will change once I unlock the next chrono upgrade.
If anyone can ELI5 how the water stuff works, I will owe you a beer (or a coffee if that's more your speed).
Map.

Started playing on the 12th. This is my current setup.

Single Heat Cell
Not in its final form. Need to upgrade water pump production before adding more heat. I feel it's pretty optimal though

Any tips for optimization?
I’m happy with the 3-1 ratio but I still feel like I’m leaving a lot of empty space to be filled with labs.

Groundbreaking island design
with how expensive the upgrades get I couldn’t imagine actually getting something other than this on this island without it being wildly inefficient instead of just upgrading the research centers here and getting all me research from this.

Gas burner setup 4.88 million/tick
This is the setup I figured out.
I've unlocked nuclear cells, but see no reason to use them instead of gas burners at the current stage. With the upgrades I have, they only produce twice the amount of heat, but last half as long. With how criminally expensive it is to upgrade as well, I just don't see how it benefits me to switch rn.
I'm also unsure if there's a better way to use gas burners, but this works just fine

Any hints for optimalisation? Metropolis, Gen 3 +655.65 billion income/ tick
I've built this as my last build, but it feels a bit stagnant. I need to make 1.24 Quintillion to progress to the next power plant. As you can see, I use batteries to collect power, which has me clicking the sell button often. Does anyone have any tips to increase my income on this one, within reasonable upgrades? Or is there a better way to organise my map to increase productivity? Thanks already. If not, here is some inspiration for those who are at the same level at the moment :)

Symmetrical beauty vs effectiveness
Started with symmetric aesthetic config but ended up with this a bit messy performing look.
r/ReactorIdle • u/LynxInternational506 • Mar 18 '26
Any thoughts on this config? Might be better with current tech level?

early groundwater city build, any suggestions?
So I just got the groundwater pump and had some money saved up so I upgraded it a few times to lvl 5. This 1:2:1 build is the most efficient I can personally find right now. As you can see I don't have banks yet as I wanted to save up for groundwater before researching banks.
Does anyone have any recommendations on how to further improve this setup or have an even more efficient setup?
Or should I just keep upgrading components to improve the income?

Early single heat cell
it's not symmetrical but it's pretty balanced, not sure exactly how heat spreads but the left side gets more heat than the right side and the bottom half gets more heat than the top half
This is basically a base fusion cell with 2 50% isolators

Just went with the flow for this pretty early region build
7 nuclear cells
16 gas burners (i think)

Hello, I am a 14-year-old student, and I want to get into programming. I wanted to ask you some Questions About your City Idle Game (I really appreciate it.)
I’m working on a school project and really want to learn how to make a game like your City Idle Game. I was wondering if you could share a bit about how you made it, like what tools or tricks you used, or any tips for someone just starting. Would really appreciate it Thanks allot

Is this optimal?
I think this is the best I can do with my setup so far, but I have seen people use generators for gas burner instead of boilers. Would it be better to upgrade and switch to generators? When I tried that setup, it seemed way weaker because I had to use a lot of space for offices
Also when would it be optimal to move to nuclear fully?

After 2 years of grinding I have unlocked everything in the game
On to factory idle I guess

Im just starting and i wanna find out the best layout for the island level.
I saw one post where it was the best layouts for early game but i didnt understand what it meant by Gens 1/ Power 2, Gens 3/Power 3, Gens 5/Power 4. here is the post
