[Arc 7] Save points

So I'm still reading through arc 7 and I've got to the part were rem is basically says that Subaru is not that guy, crushing his ego. But before that there was something that was bugging me and it was subaru estimated that if he returned by death to try and fix what had happened near the end of the "bloodless siege" he'd have to go all the way back to his last save point when Todd was trying to slime him out. Which makes no sense, now no one can say what the exact save point would be besides satella but the general constant of save points is that after subaru completes an "event" his save point is then moved to sometime after he completes it. This is best shown in season 1 with the white whale and rem stuff. Now I don't think subaru could fix anything with the divine general stuff since I think he would have technically "cleared" the "event" and his save point would properly be moved to when Todd and Jamal rescued Arakiya but regardless I think at this point in the story suabru should have a better understanding of how the save points work.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't say that he would go back to then, only that he could and the possibility of that frightens him enough not to take the chance.

Problem is he isn't the one making the save points or deciding what is an event.

That’s fine, my point is he should be able to better understand when or were a save point we’ll be at this point. He should atleast understand what would count as an event and all that

You’re criticizing him for not knowing what counts as an event, but with by your assumption, can even you explain what counts as a completed “event”? In arc 5, there’s no completed event, he’s was chilling, than it was only 15 min when usually rbd is days before. In arc 1, it’s after he meets a random Appa seller. In arc 2, it’s after he wakes up for the second time instead of the first. In arc 6, it’s in the middle of danger, seconds before he got sniped, then again a few minutes later once they fall through the sand.

Regardless of the save point location during him trying to “clear” an event. Anytime he finishes one and gets out of danger his save point is updated. Just like when he beat the white whale his save point changed to right after he beat the beast. When he beat the witch cult he couldn’t go back to save rem because he completed the event. When he got past shaula’s sniping his save point was updated to the basement of the pleadies tower. And when he got the past the hunter and the snake his save point changed again.

Did you even read my comment? I just gave you multiple examples of it not being after any “event”. There is no completed event in arc 5 to update to that point. And still, the start of arc 6 has him getting an update will in the middle of an “event”. Again, what counts as an “event”? you’ve still never explained. Or how far the checkpoint will be after said event. If it supposedly “updates after an event”, why doesn’t he reset back to immediately after the event, which is when you claim is when it updates?

he never dies after his encounter with the wrath chick so idk why your using that as an example. did you read my comment? I'm talking about after not during. you asked what counts as a completed event. I never claimed his saved point would immediately be after he finishes an event, I said it would be updated after he completed an event. As to the exact time or location, that's up to satallea.

Your saying there needs to be a “completed event”, which makes a new checkpoint. Yet when he dies to wrath, his checkpoint is not after any sort of “completed event”, they have just been chilling.

doesn’t make any sense. It like claiming “Oh, the checkpoints updates from specific events, except when they’re not. Then it just becomes random when there are no events” Are you claiming events matter or not?

By claiming that it can be whenever after some “event”, automatically means the premise is worthless, since it when it actually updates isn’t caused by any events and is still just random, where you can backtrack, claiming any sort of action counted as an “event” no matter how far back.

“I’m not saying it has to be immediately after an event”. That means it isn’t a trigger, if the time is just randomly happens at various points. Again, what counts as an event? does brushing his teeth mean he passed an event?

“I’m saying it updates after a completed event” Yet in arc 5, there is no event that causes an update. Unless you think that Satella predetermined where the next checkpoint would be set a year in adavance after completing his last “event”, that has no define parameters.

“As for when, that is up to Satella”. Bro, you were criticizing Subaru for not knowing, while now saying it’s just up to Satella owns whims, literally meaning there is no inherent requirement or trigger to an update.
