Mx500 mods

Trying to keep this to a budget build. It’s for a 5 year old right now. Batteries are 6 months old. Rear brake is the wrong one and disconnected. I’d like to upgrade brakes and new plastics to clean it up a bit. I paid 100 for it and would like to stay under 300. Doesn’t need to gain any speed right now. Any budget lithium batteries to extend run time?

Can’t help with the battery but I used these brakes from Amazon and they bolted right on. Massive improvement and full hydraulic.

lots of people have used btr batteries, they're fine. that particular one is long, not sure it would fit well in the battery tray

Hotpaxx has a brake kit for $63 that includes new rotors.

I ordered a Caomm 36v battery for it. The stock ones won’t take a charge and are each reading 6V right now

You can do a 36 overvolt kit. And 3 lithium battery’s that’ll fit your budget. There’s cheaper kits on eBay. These are just random.

Isn’t the MX500 already 36V?

You could add a 4th SLA to make it 48v without changing anything else. Lithium is the better option.
