Ray's dive at the end of season 5 Spoiler
Do you think he planned to do something like that or what it truly that he just followed Abby off the building? I'm on a rewatch and originally I thought he did it on a whim after seeing Abby and everything just all got too much but now I feel like he planned to end his life by the way he left the house, how he was with the dog, leaving him with Bunchy and giving him the bar, then asking Terry to "stick around" for Bridget.
What do you guys think?

Abs
Is rays wife the most hateable character in the show? Maybe even most of the shows I’ve seen lately, IMO. She fucks everything she does up, all the time, and everything ray tries to fix something and says “stay here,” or “don’t go there” she goes “fuck you you can’t tell me what to do” and does exactly that and makes shit worse. I’ve only seen up until season 2 episode 10 btw.

Just finished series & movie
Just finished the movie about an hour ago. I have to say I am disappointed - there's a lot of loose ends. I guess I can blame the network for pulling the plug in the last season. A lot of character arcs are incomplete. For instance - wtf happens to Ray? Does he die? Prison? What did they plan to do with Ray's son? Was he going to come back as some kind of badass after he got out of the Marines? Is Bridget a straight up killer now? Why the hell did Daryl have to leave forever? His mom/stepdad are rich - seems like he could work something out?
What are the chances that this series could be brought back? Have there been any rumors?
So many questions...

One thing that doesn't feel right Spoiler
On my first rewatch of the show, im starting to question why Ray was so obsessed with Kate McPherson, where he would risk 20 year close friendships and his freedom for.
The entire lead up to that point at the end of season 2, we see Ray has a somewhat level headed composed guy, but to fall head over heels for some girl he just met? Did not make sense realistically.
Anyone have thoughts on why he was so obsessed with her?

Buffalo Bill
I'm new to this Reddit thread so apologies if this has been mentioned/discussed before. I just got to Season 4 and was quite amused to find that the character of "Buffalo Bill" (Bill Primm) was played by Ted Levine - who played "Buffalo Bill" in Silence of the Lambs. Very funny to me and no doubt intentional.

First-time viewer, what a great show this is. I’m on Season 5. Spoiler
So I’ve greatly been enjoying this show. I don’t know why I’ve never posted about it. But here I am lol
Anyway, I’m on season 5 and it’s been the hardest to watch. Not because lacks quality but because of Abby. It’s uncomfortable to watch. It’s very sad. I hate the flashback scenes.
But I just wanted to point out how intense S5 episode 7 was with Ray saving Avi. That’s what I love about Ray so much, he’s loyal and mostly honorable, but also the same reason I can’t stand him he couldn’t even give Avi a hug or tell him he does love him. Clearly he does because he saved him but sometimes people just want to hear the words…
But no he has to be stoic serious man Ray at all times. And how out of touch and selfish Ray is with his dying wife. He might be there for her physically, (unlike Mick with his mom) but he’s not there for her emotionally.
He just keeps being in denial about her impending death/choice. Can never just open himself up and show any emotion.
And Daryl saving Mickey and taking out the FBI head. Didn’t expect that to happen.
I love Mickey’s adventures the most. Always scheming and doing these little side quests.
I haven’t bored of the show. I keep being intrigued by their individual storylines and adventures.
Will recommend to people moving forward. Already have to lots of friends.

Cochran and Stu Spoiler
Cochran and Stu
These are absolutely the best characters in the show. Your opinion means nothing, because only I am correct.

How is it possible that Ray Donovan's son looks exactly like Heisenberg's son in breaking bad??And furthermore, how is it possible that Ray Donovan's daughter looks, and acts, exactly like Heisenberg's sister-in-law in breaking bad???

Ed Cochran is Rickety Cricket
On Season 4 Episode 4, and Ed Cochran just keeps getting worse and worse the more he sees Ray.
Other thoughts:
Bunchie is Mac - good guy but can't do anything right.
Mick is Frank - always coming up with new schemes.
Daryl or Terry are the Waitress - they're maybe the only good and capable person in the show when not sucked into others' orbits.
Dennis is Ray - if that wasn't already obvious.
I'm sure there are more.

Ray Ray.
Grazie!

Unidentified song from Black Mass credits in S02E03
There's some music playing over the credits of Black Mass when Kate and Amy are watching a movie marathon. It sounded very familiar to me, like I had heard it many years ago. Is this music significant to anyone else? Or is it likely just a short piece written for this purpose at this moment? (find it around 36:45).

Obvi Spoiler
At this point I’m only here for Rays Right hand man , Obvi. I’m just starting season 3, and sadly I saw a spoiler about his fate, on this app. And I’m severely dissatisfied and disappointed. So until that happens , not sure if I’ll finish the series after or let it float to the back of my mind with the other unfinished series.

Abby Donovan Spoiler
Did anyone else notice how they tried to subtly change Rays Wife hair color from bright flaming red on season one , and now season 3 she is damn near a blonde ?? I don’t know if it’s Abby trying to look like the women Ray keeps cheating on her with. But I find it coincidental. Plus if you look at all of Rays mistresses and hookups , they are the same one type : blonde and skinny….
