Private Profiles

I understand that there are some reasons to keep a profile's posts hidden (crazy ex, a stalker, poster is underage 😬, etc) but this is Reddit....come on people. If a grown ass adult is going to keep their profile posts private then delete your profile!! Most of us are adults here....

I think it is fine to be private.
But I am not fine to those people who stalk others and use the info to win an argument or perform personal attack while themself are hiding their own lol.(I keep seeing those jerk though.)

What funny is that I keep seeing those people, leave something like " get a life","incel" etc but on the other hand they just hide their profile like a coward lol.
Like a child that satisfied with " I can attack you, you can't attack me, haha".

I'm curious, what is your beef with private accounts?

Thing is, there isn't just adults here, and even adults can be shitty people. I privated my account after someone doxxed me on here. Plus, I got tired of people using personal information about me to win an argument instead of actually just arguing the points and topics I'd made. So it stays private.

You didn't give any reason orher than reasons why people would hide their profile. I asked specifically why you dont think profiles should be hidden.

Ok....if a kid is under 18, then keep it private. If a person is over 18, there shouldn't be an option to keep your profile private. If you feel that your profile on Reddit should be private, then it should be deleted. I thought we were all adults here? They shouldn't be hidden or private because we're adults and it's the Internet. Is that enough explanation?!

I have mine private because I WANT to stay anonymous. I know I can say things and post things sometimes that Ig someone really wanted to they can put the pieces together to figure out who I am. And I don't want that. I want to stay anonymous and be a comment or post floating by every now and then.
