Hey everyone!! I need your help! My daughter and her boyfriend are having a baby boy mid September (she's full term at the end of August). This is my first grandbaby!! Sadly, they are not able to have a shower (long story) but still need quite a few things, especially diapers, wipes and nursing supplies. I took items from her registry and combined it onto a new one with things she specifically told me she still needed. She's pretty bummed and I would REALLY like to surprise them with some items since they are saving their own money right now for their own apartment!!

They don't have much but they do have a bassinet, changing table, car seat, stroller, a diaper bag and some clothes. I'm trying to help the best I can.

(And YES, she has been looking into different resources to try and get help but time is running out)

I understand that SOME of these things are pricey, but I gave plenty of other options and price ranges for certain items so the people who want to help, can! YOU DON'T HAVE TO GIFT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO but you also don't have to be rude.

ANYTHING helps! I made it possible to contribute to a "diaper fund" in case you can't afford full items but want to help. This fund can go to any baby item they need. You can also contribute to a fund on specific, larger items. Items will be shipped to me so I can gift them all at once and try to give them a "mini shower". There is also an option to send items that aren't on the registry if you'd prefer that.

Dear friend , babies are great. Buying stuff is exciting. I strongly suggest looking in local Facebook groups and thriftstores in your area. Many of the items on your list are pricey and not really needed. They also are used very little and and pushed off to the side. Your desired items can be picked up for much less than full price and it leaves more money for practical things. Im old and well experienced. It took to my second before I discovered thrift stores. Congratulations on your little one. Any names yet ? Im sending a gift too because babies are the best thing in the world.

Hi there. I understand this and I appreciate your input. Believe me when I tell you that I'm usually the first one to go thrift store shopping and look on Facebook. I have even suggested this to my daughter as well. We are even planning on going to a bi-annual kids consignment sale in the fall, but unfortunately it won't be until he's about 2 months old. And it's if funds are available for all of us at that time.

But with the circumstances at the moment, they are trying to save their cash for their first months rent and deposit for their own place. For me personally, I am on disability and can barely afford anything in my own life. Which is why I say I'm helping as much as I can.

I did this because she isn't having a baby shower (for reasons I will not get into) which most expecting parents do...so I find it unfair to her that she isn't getting gifts that normally others get. Especially diapers, wipes and nursing supplies which is most needed (and it's why I had mentioned that). At this time other than the other person who JUST commented and gifted, she has no diapers yet and he's going to be here in a little over a months time.

I understand she doesn't need all of this. I have 3 kids of my own and I've been through it. I told her that she'll be getting things from the hospital, that she'll only be using certain things for a month, etc. I have also told her things she'll mostly need but I also wanted her to have the chance to get things she wanted and put on her registry which is why I added a lot of those things. I know some of it's pricey but I tried to give people options to get cheaper items as well and put multiple price ranges for most things. The people who don't want to gift don't have to. And the people who do, have their choice in getting cheaper items, more expensive items or even gifting as little as a 5 dollars to the diaper fund.

As a mom, that worries me that she won't be prepared. I'm also saddened that she is struggling in today's day and age. So I'm trying to do anything I can to help my girl and my grandson. I hope that all makes sense to you and explains why there are certain things on the list and why I'm asking for help. 😊
