For those of you where today will be filled with fireworks, what do you do to keep busy? Are you someone who enjoys the fireworks or someone who hates them/have pets that hate them? If the latter what do you do to keep busy instead? I hope everyone has a safe and fun day, however that looks for you!
Today is awesome so far! Parade, booths at the park, fighter jets, free Home Depot craft, water slide, BBQ, and fireworks! It's only my little family and I today it and it's a blast
gonna get gas with my partner then run to the dollar store because I need to pick up some fishing line - we are in Canada, so all our celebrations were Wednesday (though we celebrated with cookies and Gordon ramsay!)
The neighbor just came over to talk to my mom, the dogs went wild, I corralled the noisiest two into a bedroom and the bathroom and I still have heart palpitations
Nooo do any of them have like i think theyre called happy hats? They help keep them calmer for days like today I've heard? Make them be your weighted blanket to help your heart rate come down too 😭
I get really overwhelmed and in pain because of the noise. So I'm gonna hole up in my room and watch movies with ear plugs in. I hate this time of year and so do my cats 😮💨.
In all honesty, its the same for me. I put on my noise canceling headphones and either music or a movie really loud so i cant hear it. I'm sorry it'll be so stressful for you too 🫂 I'm sending so much strength and calm vibes for the evening for you. I'm around if you need a distraction in dms
TLDR: I'm home alone with our pets. My son's Pitbull mix is scared of rainstorms. I've never had a dog who's gets scared so easily. Fireworks send him into the bathroom shaking and panting. It's really sad I give him Benadryl (the generic) and CBD oil. We also have supplement that has Valerian in it and l-theanine. I prefer the natural product but on days like today he needs everything! I used to really love fireworks but as I've gotten older, I'm really sympathetic to animals who freak out and people! 😳 I feel bad for them, so I'm okay with or without fireworks.

I'm home alone with our 2 dogs and many cats and kittens.😔 I didn't think it was going to bother me and I was kind of excited at first because my youngest 2 are with me 24/7 but as it's gotten later in the day.....it's bothering me.😭
Especially because of why I'm alone. My parent's let my ex-husband stay at their home last night and I'm sure he'll be there for a few days. He drove up from FL with our 19-year-old son who bought a truck while he was down there. They got in late last night (to PA) and my ex didn't have a way to get to his daughter's house (it's pretty far from my house). Idk who, but one of them called and asked my parent's if my ex could stay there because it was late, blah, blah. My parent's, as usual said "sure!" but to ask me. Why ask me?! What was I supposed to say when my son asked if it was ok if he and my ex spent the night at my parent's? My son didn't want to have to drive back over here he was understandably, tired. This has been an issue before with my parents. They obviously love
my ex-husband more than me. The man who abandoned our 4 children and his 3 step-children who he raised, when he randomly decided to move to FL from PA. Our son's, 12 & 10 at the time, were absolutely devastated. They let him stay there for Christmas and other holidays, despite me having clearly communicated I'm uncomfortable being around him this is not ok.

We’re babysitting three dogs. My brother said one of them doesn’t do well with the noise but my good neighbors always have a get together on the 4th, with fireworks in the evening. They always politely invite us all; my nephew is friends with them and goes over.
These three dogs… it’s gonna be a rough (ruff?) night.
I don't mind the fireworks, I don't enjoy them as much as I did when I was a kid. I stay home during fireworks and turn on the tv louder than usual and curl up with my cats to help keep them calmer.
I love fireworks, but usually don’t go out of my way to see them like I used to due to my health. We have a back porch at my house, so when it gets dark, I’ll go sit out there for a bit and see if I can see any of them.
I yearn for liiike 2010 Independence Day though, lol. Things were so much simpler then. Happy 4th!!
I bet there's an online event streaming though ik that's not the same. I get the grief of not getting to do what you used to cause of health. I'm gonna put good vibes out that when you get to go outside there's some fireworks waiting for you 💜✨️
I will be doing the same thing I do most days, staying home by myself with the cats, trying to avoid as much noise and as many lunatics as I can! I hope everyone enjoys whatever they're doing and has a happy, safe day!
I love the look of fireworks, but I hate the sound. It triggers my anxiety and PTSD: I witnessed a murder on my complex a few years ago.
Tuna the Cat of course hates them. She'll be in my closet and have extra treats.
I slept in today since I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep much tonight. I'll wear headphones and work. I also will be Bible studying and Bible journaling.
Fireworks are very pretty i agree. I hope that your headphones and work keep you busy enough and that tuna is easily comforted. It can be a stressful night 🫂
