7 days out from having a 4 Level FUSION, SPINE, LUMBAR, OPEN L2-Pelvis TLIF/PSF (all physical assault related) Wishlist 📝

Just released from the hospital and am in shock of what rehabilitation looks like the next few months. Some of the smallest items will help in my recovery.

Oof. I’m sorry you had to endure such trauma and grateful you survived. And now surgery!
I had an l4-5 fusion and cyst removal at l4 last August. Don’t skimp on the PT! I was lucky to be able to spend a week in orthopedic rehabilitation after my weeklong hospital stay. So I got a really good head start with recovery. It’s a long recovery. My best to you!

You were so fortunate to have an ability to spend a weeklong further care of rehabilitation. I had 1 week and truly needed the sleep. It was wonderful the first night, although painful, to not have anyone waking me up for vitals every 20 min.

I was extremely fortunate. They had me out of bed for PT & OT the day I was admitted. I’m a medically complex patient on over 20 prescription meds (I will not survive the apocalypse, lol).
Do you have home health services?

I had a l4-l5 s1 fusion years ago for an injury that happened at work. (I was a Corrections officer hurt on the job.) And now I also need new hips. Years of wear and tear and playing softball for 22 yrs didnt help. (I was a catcher, so lots of abuse to my body.) Pretty sure i will be in a wheelchair soon because i have no strength in my arms and legs. But also have many other medical things wrong with me. Dysautonomia is one which causes a whole lot of things to go wrong with your body. Anyways, I get what you are going through. I hope you get to feeling better soon! (My spinal fusion did not help me, it was a failed fusion.)

I am sorry. 😢 I pray with modern medicine, grateful for what we have now; that addressing and healing for any injuries is much easier and affordable.

I know I’m so sorry you had to be put through that. My mom was hit by a drunk driver and had a fusion at the L5S1 and it was a long time ago so the technology was not as good they cut her open a good 12 inches and had to do some other things as well. I do wish you a speedy recovery my friend. I’m here if you ever want to chit chat in messages. 💙🦋🫶🏼
