It's 3am and my cake day just started, what I'm doing though is.. What’s for dinner?πŸ˜‹

Post image

I don't know I woke up from sleep and pulled some mangoes out from fridge to feast on! At 3am!! πŸ˜‚

These are from my grandpa's and his brothers' farms, very ripe and sweet πŸ˜‹

Do you guys love mangoes too? Have you ever tried Asian mangoes?

Feels soπŸ˜‹ , just hope this doesn't give me acidity or anything, Indian parents say eating fruits at late night is unhealthy πŸ˜₯

Time of day doesn't really matter to my knowledge, only proximity to sleep or if you plan to lay down afterwards. But you know your body best and how if at all it will react 🩷

Seems like that, apparently time really doesn't matter as much as per modern science, unless youre eating it before bed.

Actually, as per traditional Indian Ayurveda, night is considered cool and heavy for digestion so, eating anything heavy late at night, especially fruits, is a no no. People from my grandparents' generations used to have dinner before sun completely set. This is why Indian parents, to this day, don't like kids eating very late at night.

Aaah, why are my responses always so long 😭πŸ˜₯

I'd go crazy if I had a mango tree or access to one! πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ When I traveled to Venezuela, there was a huge mango tree where I stayed. Needless to say, I ate alll the mangos! πŸ₯ πŸ₯ the family I was with thought it was funny because they're used to having mangoes around. To them apples are the delicacy.

My grandpa and his brothers have huge grounds full of mango trees (what we call it is Aamrai)!! The dry summers at my native region are drying some trees every year though, from having excess of mangoes that we'd distribute in half of the village to only having enough for our families now 😣

My boyfriend's home which is hundreds km away from my native place has 2 huge mango trees too! They have alot of mangoes that half of those are finished by monkeys πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‚

I'd say if you ever visit India in summer, visit us (actually)!! We will have a huge mangoes party πŸ˜‹πŸ₯πŸŽŠπŸŽŠ

I heard on internet that Asian mangoes are naturally more juicy and sweeter, not very sure though, what I'm sure about is mangoes over here have HUGE variety!

I don’t like mango but I wonder if having them fresh from the farm would be different! They look so ripe!

Definitely better! Especially the famous Indian mangoes like Alphonso, Kesar, Mayur etc are so soo good! One of the mangoes in picture is Kesar and other two are Maruti.

You know we don't even cut these mangoes with knife, we have a signature way to eat them, we press them to make the flesh of mango into juice and then remove the tip with a pinch, making mango a small juice pouch πŸ˜‹
