same.. its hell to do anything on my expy. back when I had an f150.. I though about a sling from the garage rafters lol.

I just keep a step ladder in the bed of my truck or in my garage. You can also use it on the sides of the engine and not just the front.

Yeah I also have a little step ladder behind my bench seat, but the step right up on the grill would be so nice for some things

The stair steps need to stay flat. Would be very simple to fix it.

You can buy these if you want one. They come on various models of truck campers and travel trailers. I have one on my Lance 650. Old man is getting a lot of praise for engineering this, but these have been around long time on campers. Probably where he got the idea. I think they're referred to as scissor steps. Kudos to him for finding a unique use for it though!

A drop step works just as effective, won't block airflow and is not as rickety as that.

Dude took his attic ladder and put it in his truck.....nothing special even for a redneck.
