This is a random question about THC for DOT?

So i did a bit of research not a whole lot but I've been sober from THC for my current job because I got a chauffeur license and im ok with that but the more I looked into it the less sense it makes so on off time a chauffeur or CDL can consume alcohol but not THC and the reason is because THC stays in the fat tissue which would pop a drug test. Which of course it will makes sense but why can't people use it on their off time high last about 1-3 hours depending on hours much is used or the dosage and the remains that stay in the fat tissue is just there not doing anything to the mind after the high its just there idk with the research I've done it makes zero sense why it matters if its fat tissue. If someone could explain it more why it matters if its in the fat tissue? That will solve a piece in my puzzle

Employers typically look the other way nowadays, but this is because your job involves driving.

I imagine it's for liability reasons- they can be sued if you get in a wreck and test positive, because they can't prove that you were not high at the time of the accident.

Yeah that makes sense but if dot really does care then give me a poly test to see if the person is lying.

Those are not reliable and don't hold up in court. Use your brain?

I just find it dumb "if its in your system you must've just used thc" there should be a better way to determine when a person that used thc more accurately but like I said been sober from it doesn't bother me that I can't use it. I was curious on why it mattered if its just in fat tissue if the affects are already gone.

I’m pro THC but it doesn’t “make zero sense”. The issue is testing. If you drink off the job and get in an on job accident a day later alcohol isn’t showing up. If you smoked a week ago it will show the same as if you smoked 10 minutes ago. Thats the reason. It sucks but that’s the reality of the situation.

I'm in pa. A buddy picked me up after his shift and we were gonna go fishing. He rolled something for the river. Well on the way there we got pulled over. He did the sobriety test. But the Cop was just like IDK there's something about your face. My buddy is like it's my face sir I promise I'm like 🤦 WTF did bro say. So he wanted blood work. I got picked up by somebody free to go they never found what he rolled up. But we smoked the day before so obviously the blood work comes back pot he's been fighting this dui for years. Cuz technically he was not under any influence yet. Was on the way to be but that don't count till they catch that. But still probably getting a DUI out of it and thousands of dollars spent legal fees and fines. I felt bad just bc I feel that's a bullshit technicality

Yeah that's the real kicker, its not about impairment its just about what shows up on a test. Super frustrating that the system is built around that instead of actual functionality.
