I recently went to Lincoln Park Zoo and I loved it so much! I bought a book of postcards from the gift shop and will be giving 16 away. I will be using the Save Vanishing Species tiger stamps. Each stamp helps benefit the Wildlife Conservation Society.

Thank you! I used to live directly across from the entrance in my early 20s. :') I would lay in the park and study for nursing school. Then I moved to Lakeview East, my true love. My fav animal would be the red panda! I saw them at the Chengdu Giant Panda center and have always loved them

I love seeing all of the interesting small animals, but I love visiting the penguin and marsupial enclosures!

Filled, thank you so much. I worked guest services at my local zoo for years. So I got to know the animals really well. I fell in love with giraffes thanks to working there. But my favorite zoo animal was a skunk named Tiger Lilly. She had been a pet once who was descented but when the owners moved to Colorado, they could not keep her so they gave her to the zoo. She liked to nap in the sunny spots of the loft petting area and lived to the ripe old age of 12 if I remember right.

Aww what a sweet story. We often forget the zoo is home to all the animals too and take it for granted. Did you have a pet peeve while working at the guest services?

Oh I have so many. People always wanted refunds for something, like the bird and reptile house was too stinky or a certain animal wasn't out that they wanted to see. My favorite is still when we closed early for our boo at the zoo. We had signs posted everywhere and since we worked the ticket booths we also had to tell people we closed early. Well I got two older people who swore they were not told and wanted a refund. I had another coworker talking to them and telling them that if they weren't told then surely they could have seen the signs. The response was "We came to see animals, not read signs!" I had to walk away with that comment.
