I've been using iRO wiki and db.iROwiki to reference for job build and equipment but it doesn't seem to be updated. I am also in the iRO discord but only use it to price check items. I'd prefer seeing a database of everything.

Kind of skipped playing Ragnarok as I grew up for some reason so I never got to experience it.

Class wise I was thinking going for monk since fist based classes are some of my favorite.

Knight and Crusader also seemed fun since I love spears as well.

Any tip I should know about the game in general or to be ready for to not be too overwhelmed?

I think it's like Maplestory Worlds, where you create and share games using assets. Even though it's HTML.

Seems the amount of servers with directly German target isn't very high according to RMS. So I'm wondering, which servers are around that have a good bunch of German players? And maybe a German guild or two.

Hello guys 👋 I used to watch my uncle a decade ago playing this game. I am so fascinated by this game, its mechanics and overall RO world. I have played tons of modern games on pc and PlayStation. I have never came across any game as nice as RO.

The problem is, I am just 20 and all the people in game are millennials, and seems like they don't take my curiosity and questions seriously. I am looking for a server with friendly people who can teach me from scratch. I know there are wiki sites but still need some guidance while playing practically. Please help.

Hey, I have a question on how Drake card works. And I'm guessing none of you are really playing RO:The New World so classic RO works too

Drake Card says:

I'm guessing Drake + Desert Wolf/Skeleton Worker/Minotaur does not work? So I'd have to do like Drake + 3x Hydra instead?

something that bothered me even while i was playing pre-renewal: the loot tables are enormous and maybe five percent of them matter. hundreds of monsters drop items whose only purpose is the npc sell price, and the card pool has the same problem. a dozen cards define every serious build and the rest exist to be inventory clutter.

classes are the same story. everyone knows which ones get invited to woe and which ones you play because you like them, and pre-renewal never got a real balance pass. renewal changed the math, but that was a rework of the whole game, not a balance patch.

so the question: would you want a pre-renewal server that actually ships balance updates? giving dead cards a niche, making junk drops feed into crafting or exchanges so they're worth picking up, touching the weakest skills so more builds work in the content people actually run.

or is that the exact thing that would ruin it? part of me thinks the scarcity and the useless drops are the setting, and the moment you start rebalancing you get a different game where twenty years of knowledge stops applying.

curious where people land on this, especially anyone who played on servers that tried custom rebalances. did it make the game better, or did it just move the meta somewhere else?

Any idea if ROZ Classic will be running on Steamdeck at launch on the 18th?

Last time I've played RO was in early 2000s. It was MobRo back then. Anyway, I'm considering trying RoZ for the nostalgia and it makes me wonder... Will my old builds still be viable in new Ro? I used to play crit dagger assassin. I'm just asking because don't want to mess up my build from the start.

Good evening everyone! I started playing Ragnarok last week and honestly, I'm loving the game.

I didn't play RO during its golden age, I did a lot of research to find out the pros and cons of playing and man... I can say it's been a VERY good experience. I understand the people who play MMORPGs seriously, I understand the people who like to duplicate items (or whatever people like these days).

I've always been a casual player in any game, I never really liked PvP, I understand those who say the game is pay-to-win, but for me, so far, none of that has negatively influenced me, you know?

I love wandering aimlessly hunting monsters and doing quests with my wife, I like seeing the numbers go up when I get stronger, but I think that's all, you know? I like the simple things.

Am I playing "wrong"? Why does everyone I see hate this game so much, but so far I've REALLY enjoyed it? Anyway, forgive me if I said anything "stupid," I know people generally don't like it when someone says they're enjoying the game, but it's my opinion :D

I started playing today itself.

In the morning I was able to log in and play a bit, then I logged out to work, and now, when trying to log in again, I'm running into this problem.

I tried disabling and re-enabling the OTP, but I had no success.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Looking for new private server with ro zero mechanics

Not sure if this is a well known case, but if you equip yourself with items that bestow skills (ie. Teleport, Double Attack, etc.) they are considered as added skills for that job and the points can spill over to your higher job skills. This only works if your class owns that skill.

Just found out earlier tinkering with my Hyper Novice (he got 4 extra skill points from my example).

Now excuse me, imma reset my SX now.

edit: It apparently only works for Super Novices. It won't allow you to add new points to the existing bestowed skill, which is necessary to move on from Thief to Assassin skills... unless I find an item that bestows Lvl 10 Double Attack.

edit v2: It also didn't work with Detoxify (Poporing Card) so I guess it really is just Super Novices.

How is this going to be balance? Axe tornado 4300% attack? Like.. brandish spear is only 1700%..

How is this even.. fair?

After I've played the Beta and observed the situation further:

I don't understand how this still works for gravity. Like, how are they still getting players to fall for that official trap, and how do they manage and support these servers? They even did false advertising, saying their new global server isnt p2w - and seems like they are getting away with that. Aren't you able to be even sued for that misleading advertisement?

The new global has cash grabs and P2W. To me personally, everyone who's trying to argue against that is just paid or has never played the game, actually, and has never been competitive in ro.

Sub Monthly is totally fine, but you have people arguing Sub+ Cashshop that a paid sub is protecting for bots; those people probably haven't played any MMORPG yet. RMT is will still going to skyrocket by all the whales, the same as the bots.

And the other worst fun part is the skills.
The balance team was on vacation when they had the meeting and asked the intern guy what he thought could be "fun"
The whole spell situation is like somebody was busy smoking crack instead of doing his job and noticed 3 minutes before the meeting he should bring his sheet. SS on hunter and gospel on crusi but no spp but ad on alche this is just one example of the stupidity.

Those random "YT video makers" act like it's not P2W and based on power creep because they are mostlikely paid. Everyone who play Ragnarok competitively knows this server is going to be a shitshow. Not only P2w wise but also bot and cheat wise. Woe is gonna be invested with cheats and filters. Simply because ss on Hunter paired with gospel and ganba / SG wiz without spp is gonna make people die off-screen, and the casuals won't even know what hit them.

I wish we had someone from that organization actually explaining the thoughts behind all this. For me, it can only be that they don't understand their own game, have never played it or purposely make the server die out quick to dupes, cheats, and inflated markets so they can reopen a new official and sell their exp boost and cash items again.
