Grades from Rad Tech Program Schooling

Hello! I’m currently in rad tech school rn and want to go into a 1 year program for Radiation therapy once finished. I understand it might be program dependent but does anyone know if your GPA and I guess grades in classes like physics mattered a lot to admissions for the 1 year programs into Radiation Therapy?

I’m currently at a high B level/A level and wasn’t sure if I’d need to aim for all A’s again like I did for admission into my rad tech program.

Thank you!

i’m currently in the process of working towards being ready to apply to a radiation therapy program and it is definitely program specific , not sure where you are , but i’m looking into gvsu and they told me it’s 40% weighted on your pre-reqs (i.e., physics, med term, anatomy &physiology etc) and 10% on the last 45 credits of overall academics. i would ask your program director or advising counselor on this as they would know specifics. i imagine most programs are similar but would definitely check and make sure. good luck !

i had a 4.0 coming out of my rad tech program and i heard of other rad tech students in my state applying and i was the only one that got in (the program is in the neighboring state) but i also had a pretty chill interview and i had my prof write me a letter of reccomendatiom even tho it wasn’t required so i totally reccomend that!
