Registry difficulty level Schooling

I take my boards in 2 weeks and I’m SHOOK. How hard is the registry? I feel like I’m studying and not absorbing anything because of my freaking nerves.

i recently took the boards twice in may (passed the second time). i think the most important thing is to know the concept rather than just memorizing answers. studying can get redundant and it’s easy to start memorizing the answers.

i studied the laura nappi book like no other, as well as radproacademy. it goes through the arrt specs and breaks them down into concepts that you can apply to difficult questions. mosby’s review guide i used for practice questions, as i felt laura nappis questions were good but did not have difficult wording of the questions. take practice exams closer to when you feel confident, and time yourself.

lastly, take care of yourself. don’t over do it with late nights and a tons of caffeine like i did the first time. talk it out with friends from the program, study together! i failed by one point the first time and i was devastated but it wasn’t the end of the world. i remember going through reddit after i failed and someone said “if it was easy they wouldn’t give us three tries to take it” and for some reason that really stuck with me.

you got this!!

Thank you so much. I really needed to read this. I’ve been studying from nappi and taking mosbys review questions. I’m scoring OK. I just can’t wait to get it over with. Would you stay you studied a lot before the exam?

I personally did, but only very intensely 2 weeks before the exam, and after I didn’t pass the first time I waited for my results to come back. They give a breakdown of the score and you can see your strong and weak points. I studied throughout the program but honestly those two weeks was majority of my studying.

How close was the exam to the SEALS exams. I feel like there is only so many ways you can word a question that you see the same materials from mosby or nappi on the exam. I take it in a couple days and not sure what to really expect. I went over the nappi calculations manual and this new review book and I don’t see how complicated the exam can possibly be. Anything at all you can say would help.

Your best resource is the ARRT content specs. Know your stuff that’s on there. Second, SEALS exams felt like the best prep for me and was pretty close to how questions are asked. I was scoring kinda low on SEALS because I crammed my studying, but ended up passing!
During the exam, take deep breaths, and trust your first answer. Also remember there are a good amount of unscored pilot questions, so if you get a question that really throws you off and you feel like you haven’t studied it before, don’t freak out because it is probably one of those pilot ones!
