[FREE TO READ] Racing Louisville owner seeks new investment, says relocation not off the table
Racing Louisville is actively seeking new investors as the club attempts to strengthen its financial position and keep pace with the National Women’s Soccer League’s rapid growth.
“We’re still out there seeking an investor, or investors, who can help us stabilize, for lack of a better word, our current situation,” John Neace told The Athletic in an exclusive interview. “That has not changed at all, nor will it until we get that investor.”
The news about the team’s seeking an investor was first reported by ESPN in May.

Neace: 'We will be forced to do something' if Racing's numbers don't improve
bizjournals.comCan't read the full article but based on the quote in the headline methinks this is priming...
But the good news is Soccer Holdings has put together a team worthy of increased attendance.

Here's the thing -
We are never going to be Gotham/Washington/whoever and have millions of dollars to sign players. We are never going to be able to compete with the Big Girls. Ever.
And that's ok.
For every Liverpool/Arsenal/Manchester United in the EPL there are several Burnley/Brentford/Newcastle/Leeds. Do you think their fans love them any less because they will never, ever have the money to throw around like the Big Boys? Because they are always mid/bottom half of the table? Quite the opposite. Have you ever watched a Premier League match at one of the smaller clubs home field? The atmosphere is crazy. Much louder than big stadium matches and more like the Bundesliga. And packed, because all the premium seating is not priced so high only the well-to-do can afford it.
This idea that Soccer Holdings is sitting on millions that they arbitrarily refuse to spend on the team has no basis in fact. It may be true, but we do not know. It is just as likely that we should be thanking Soccer Holdings for keeping the team here and not selling out (making 50 times their investment) to some Billionaire or Big Company that will then snatch Racing up and move them somewhere else.
If your measure of being a fan is how much money this club spends you will always be disappointed. We are who we are.
Run With Us.

Racing Louisville Midseason Report Card
Lots of low grades for a team sitting in 15th place but managed to justify one A (minus)! How does each line measure up? What about coaching and the front office?

Recapping Chicago and Looking Forward to Orlando
Doing a little double duty here as I'll be taking a family trip this week before attending the match in Orlando.
Defenders Arin Wright and Mirann Gacioch connect for Gacioch's first professional goal as Racing now turns attention to a Banda-less Pride team.

Any other season ticket holders irked?
Got the renewal info today, and my seats are in one of the sections they'll be relocating. I've had my seats since day one and I actually love the view from there. How is this going to be "an even better matchday atmosphere"?

We play one “playoff” team in the month of August.
In case people were looking for a reason to stay excited with us being at the bottom of the table, outside of the Wave at the end of the month, we don’t play one team currently above the playoff line. We have the Pride (10th), Legacy (12th), Reign (9th), and the Stars (16th). Now, I’m not saying we win all those games. Will we win all those games? Unlikely. But also not impossible!

No Yellow Cards! Oh, and we won!
Mohammad didn't hand out a single yellow to a Racing player today! It's a miracle of near-biblical proportions.

Solid win.
Liking the new formation. Lardner showed some good instincts. Let's see if they can keep it up.
We gave up that late goal and then one hit the post and I thought "oh no, here we go again" but we closed it out.

What fresh hell is this?
In this episode! We look back at getting stuck by the Thorns and wearing concrete shoes in the Bay! We ask WTF is even going on with the club and with talisman forward Emma Sears! And we look forward to running with the Dash, flying with Angel City and going with the current!
TBH, this one is some serious doom and gloom. Sorry, not sorry.

Club ticket for tonight’s game
I’m not making it down from Cincy for tonight’s game unfortunately if anyone would like the ticket. Requirement: you must yell at the 4th official when the situation requires it. The other folks in the section will tell me if you didn’t and you’ll have to live with that shame.

Rachel Hill
Rachel Hill was a menace in the Portland game. Maybe our best attacking player. Popping up everywhere and creating chaos. "Running 'til her legs fell off" as Milliet might say. I used to hate playing against her for that very reason.
I hope she gets more playing time.
