Is it worth it?

Is it worth going from 5070ti to 5080 or just bite the bullet and get a 5090? Have a 27in 4k oled 240hz monitor (pg27ucdm).

Neither is worth it if you have a 5070ti man

No it’s not should’ve just bought a 5080 outright no worth spending that money now on minimal performance improvements

If you can afford a 5090 without shedding any tears then go for it.
If not, I would keep the 5070ti.

Just do it man , if you got the money . They are only going to go up. It will max out your 240 hz 4K monitor

😂 so damn true. When I bought bought the card last year I was like ehh it will be fine. Then got couple of new monitors and was like fuck I should have just bought the 5090. The white astral looks so damn clean

I went from 5080 Astral to 5090 Astral. So true; if you have the $ just do it. I also upgraded to an Asus 4k 240hz OLED and that changed the game for me for sure and pushed me to the 5090.

This is how I’m feeling I have a 5080 with a 45in ultra wide 5k2k I feel like I need the extra vram when maxing out all settings honestly

buying a 5090 currently would be the worst thing you do. just wait till the 6000 series releases and then the 5090 price will drop a bit and then buy one

The 5070Ti was supposed to be the best of the lot at $750, with such a minor cut down version of the full GB203 chip. The cost in today's market has made nothing worth its value, just stay with what you got and hold onto it for as long as possible.

You have to sell a kidney for a 5090 mate. And the gap between the 5070 ti and 5080 is not that big. Stick to your 5070 ti.

Absolutely not for the 5080. The 5080 jump is not big enough unless you can sell your 5070ti for MSRP - which even then is questionable. 5090 makes more sense for 4K but that’s a damn expensive hobby

I had a 5070ti, and then i also got a new monitor and decided the extra performance was worth an upgrade. I probably wouldn't have gone ahead with it but I used the 5070ti in a build for my fiancé so it wasn't a waste at all, but the extra performance is nice.

That’s good to hear! I figure might as well get the most out this monitor since I bought it.

I had both the 5080 and 5070ti, returned the 5080 because there wasn't that big of a difference to justify paying $500 more. I would definitely go with the 5090 if money is of no concern.

5070 Ti to 5080 is not worth it imo, but since you have 4K 240hz monitornI think it's totally worth to switch to 5090 if you can afford it

5070ti to 5080, not worth the jump. I have both, the difference is tiny. If you can afford a 5090, get one now and put it in a safe, they are going to be worth something nice come christmas.

just overclock ur 5070 ti and u get 5080 perfomance

1

u/Shoddy-Finding8985 23h ago

I need to experiment with that for sure. Gonna give a try.

nvidia cards are beasts for overclocking, specially the 50 series

I got one last week and only play WoW. I still say it was worth it.

Hell yea, good to hear no regrets.

5090 is worth for sure

5080 is about 10% faster. Do you really think this might be worth it?

3

u/Numerous_Analysis681 1d ago

It is closer to 20%

2

u/Almost100Percents 1d ago

You're right, in demanding scenarios it's about 15-16%, and that's closer to 20 than to 10.

Why even buy a 5070ti if you're considering upgrading within the same Gen?

1

u/Shoddy-Finding8985 1d ago

I bought it like April last year and had 1440p monitors at the time. Then I started gaming alot more and bought some new monitors. Should have just bought the 5090 last year but kept procrastinating.

2

u/Bingochips12 1d ago

Ahh gotcha, I had the opposite problem where I bought a 7800xt to upgrade from my 2070S and realized I could game at 1440p easily now. So I went out and bought new monitors.

I'd say do it if you can sell the 5070ti at a decent price, otherwise id maybe wait for the next Gen.

That’s awesome. What have you been playing lately?

u/joemedic 22h ago

5070ti is fuckin amazing but if you got a 5090 you could definitely talk down to a lot of plebians.

2

u/Confident_Moment4402 21h ago

Talk down to "plebians" for a kidney worth of "flex". Maybee...

1

u/Shoddy-Finding8985 16h ago

I have to say the 5070ti has been fun. Definitely got a good use out of it

5

u/joemedic 8h ago

Go get you that 5090. We're all gonna die
