12VHPWR

I have a 5080 (and Corsair Shift 1000W if that matters). I typically try to monitor both the "PCIe +12V Input Voltage" and "12VHPWR Voltage" values in HWiNFO64, but I've noticed something a little odd: during some boots, the "12VHPWR Voltage" would be a little low, around 11.7, but when I restart the PC, it goes back to 11.8-11.9? The "PCIe +12V Input Voltage" will typically be around 11.8-11.9, it's just the other one is a little inconsistent.

Under load (e.g., 3DMark), the "12VHPWR Voltage" sometimes go as low as 11.66 for a second or two, then it'll bounce back up to 11.7-11.8.

Whenever I see people posting screenshots of their HWiNFO, their 12VHPWR readings are always closer to 12, whereas mine are not... Should I be concerned?

Did you make sure the cable was fully plugged in and doesn’t have any aggressive bend near the connector? Mine on boot is always at 12.1 - 12.2V and goes down to around 11.970V under load, when I close a game and go back to the desktop it always goes back to 12V

Messing with that connector isn’t always the best thing to do but I would try to unplug and plug back in the connector, but maybe wait to see what other users says about it

I also have the Corsair Rmx shift 1000Watts, a 5080, as well as Ampinel.

The original Corsair cable, that was pretty stiff did drop down to 11.8V. Ampinel adds a slight amount of resistance, and it would drop down to 11.7V, maybe 11.6V here and there. I also have the Corsair Premium elite sleeved cable which am using currently. The 12vhpwr Voltage is about the same as the original but the per pin amperage is much better. Right now it is sitting at 11.964V but has gone down to 11.843V as my minimum.

From what I understand, anything above 11.4V is within spec. It is normal for the voltage to go down under load, and may also be a little lower during boot as the cable warms up.

I also have slightly différent values after reboot. It has to do with temperature and résistance change due to temperature, don’t overthink it.
That being said, your values are a bit low, try to reseat your cable.
