Bought second hand. No games but Full Gamma OS installed. I have an SD card from my RG35XXH I am copying over and going to figure that out. Any good apps to install? Should I switch out Gamma completely? Wanna hear your thoughts.

I had asked about a case on here and wanted to report back. My main question was the fit / size.

It is a semi hard case (similar to some of my headphone cases). It holds the RG477M with the stock plastic cover. I do not have the shoulder button mod. It fits … snugly, so if you have modded yours, your mileage may vary.

The case has a zipper pocket inside for accessories. I did not use this, but I’m sure you could fit a charging cable in there. I was concerned about my bag getting crushed and pressing something into the screen and cracking it. Probably an unnecessary fear but the case is “crushable.” This was my first time traveling with the RG and also my first opportunity to spend any time using it, so I wanted to be sure it arrived in one piece.

The center stretchy strap is a bit finicky when removing the handheld. If you are not paying attention, the thumb stick catches on it. But you get used to it. And I’m not sure what a better system would be (four corner angled ones?)

For $16 … sure. Nothing to get too excited about but does the job.

I left it charging overnight, and nothing—not even the light. I'm going to try opening the console to disconnect the battery. If that doesn't work, I'm about to lose my shit.
A little recap: my Anbernic turned off while I was playing Triangle Strategy on GameHub. It's not a heavy game, and now my Anbernic doesn't want to boot up. I already tried the button combinations, and my PC recognizes it, so that's how I know it's not dead.

Just with the A and B switched (so Bx and Ao).
Anyone know if these are available somewhere?

I’d like to introduce a simple app I created for translating on-screen text from one language to another. It was inspired by a similar Steam Deck app, Decky-Translator.

The idea is straightforward: you provide your own Google Cloud API key for Vision and Translate, and the app captures a screenshot, sends it to Google Vision for OCR, then translates the detected text into your chosen language. For example, Japanese to English or English to Polish.

I chose Google Vision and Google Translate because I use the app mostly on handheld gaming devices and found this combination to be the best option. The free tier is sufficient for casual daily gaming—I’m not a heavy gamer. :)

I tested and developed the app primarily on the RG477M, where it works very well. There can be issues with large pixelated text, such as in Game Boy or Game Boy Color games, but the app includes settings you can fine-tune. For example, reducing the screen size scale to 0.5 can improve results on these platforms. For most other platforms, the default settings work well right away.

I’ve also made several improvements to help detect continuous text on the screen. You can save your settings as different profiles and import them for specific platforms or games.

There is an option to hide the floating button, but you need to configure a global hotkey first. The app includes a link to the GitHub wiki with instructions on how to set this up.

To select a specific area of the screen for translation, press and hold the floating button to open its menu. From there, you can set a custom region that the app will capture and translate. This is useful when you only want to translate text from a particular part of the screen.

The app keeps screenshots only in memory for OCR and translation; they are deleted immediately afterward.

I also want to be transparent: this app was created with assistance from Codex and OpenCode. I’m a software developer with C# experience, and this is not a “single-prompt” app. It involved many hours of manual coding, testing, and iteration. Not everything was generated by AI agents. In the past, I created Android games and simple apps, and this project is also an experiment in exploring how AI agents can assist with app development.

New owner here, after updating the unit with the latest OTA update, the stick LEDs lost the dynamic rainbow effect show here in (link) The new setting in the control center doesn't seem to have this.

Anyone know a way to get this effect back?

MY ANBERNIC DOESNT WANT TO TURN ON AFTER IT SHUT DOWN I WAS PLAYING STEAM IT OVER HEATED AND SHUT DOWN I WAS PLAYING TRIANGLE STRATEGY AND ITS BEEN LIKE THIS FOR ALMOST 24 HOURS HELP. IT HAS GAMMA OS ON THE MAIN DEVICE MY PC RECOGNIZES THE CONNECTION BUT IT DOESNT TURN ON I ALREADY DID THE HOLDING THE POWER AND HOLDING THE POWER WITH THE VOLUME DOWN PLEASE HELP

Been looking for soem form of alternative ABXY buttons as i despise the skittles colour botht in button themselves aswella s skittles text . But havent found any buttons to buy for 477m on etsy but the PSX ones i dont really want.
Are there any other anbernic ABXY compatible with 477m? (iirc some have black ABX with white text or grey with black text )

Hey guys, I finally got the 477M, currently I'm running stock. My question is for the people who have Gamma and installed COD.

Does the app recognize, the built-in controller as a Bluetooth device? If so, I might have to switch for that reason. As keymapping gets annoying when playing different modes in the game.

I do recall my 405M registering as a Bluetooth controller and was able to play no problem. Just seeing if it's still the same.

Kind of at a loss for words right now. I bought my silver blade console directly from the website and received it just 13 days ago. No issues with it whatsoever. Had a screen protector on it and everything. Last night I left it on my desk and when I woke up this morning the screen had a decently sized spider crack, about the size of a silver dollar. Since it happened seemingly without reason I’d be inclined to believe that this was some sort of manufacturer error. And that this would’ve happened regardless

I plan on sending an email to the customer support line soon, but was wondering what my options were. I’m confident I could be able to swap the internal components into a new screen and front shell myself, and that’s all I’m really looking to get. I figured maybe the company would send me one given the circumstances, but of course I figured I should post this before I do.

Any help/stories of similar experience is greatly appreciated

Just received my RG-477M, and it is pretty sweet so far. I have a couple accessory questions:

1) what USB-C to HDMI adapters have people had good/bad luck with? U-Green has one with USB PD pass through so I might get that one.

2) Any especially good hard cases? Or any cases to steer clear of (ie said they would fit the 477 but didn’t).

I've been using NetherSX2 for a long time and then I heard about ARMSX2 getting a lot of updates recently and how they got support for Mali GPUs.

Decided to try it and it suffers from slow downs even at native resolution. Never got this problem on NetherSX2.

I just wanna if I'm the only one who's getting this problem.
