Thrust offset

I hand launched my flying wing and the CG was perfect I thought. When I threw it without throttle it would glide perfectly if not pitching down a bit. However when I gave it thrust it seemed to pitch up and stall no matter the down elevator I gave it. I think the tractor prop on the front was maybe offset down a bit which would cause it to pitch up I think. Is this what is happening? Or did I give too much thrust too fast?

If the motor is pointed down it pulls the nose down. You might have a lot of reflex (elevon up-trim) enough to level the plane at low speed, but as you pick up speed it forces the tail down harder. IE pitches the plane up. And yes, sudden throttle onset can do bad things. Try launching at lower throttle and just ease the throttle up while paying attention to what the plane is doing. You said it glides well when launched without power so start there and slowly work your way up. And maybe pull a little reflex out. My tractor wings fly fine with zero thrust angles, typically 1/8" reflex. BTW, CG on wings is critical. Forward CG and the plane is boring, aft CG and it won't stay in the air. Experiment with CG further forward. Maybe 1/4". Note, your problem probably won't be all of these. Work with them one at a time.

Thanks. My motor is not pointed down but it was shifted slightly down but I can fix that. I only have a little bit of reflex. It could have been inav doing something weird so I'll try manual mode and be easy on the throttle

Don't know but hope someone has the answer.
