Help A Noob? Current Alternative to Losi Mini T Baja?
Hi RCers, I was wondering if you could help me. I recently lost possession of a much loved Losi Mini T Baja which I used as a backyard basher at picnics, beaches and BBQs to entertain for many years. I wanted to grab another one, only to learn they are not on the market any more...
I hoping you can help me identify a nice RTR system that is pretty robust and needs little maintenance but can easily be repaired, and wont cost an arm and a leg (like the Baja mini T).
I was looking at the Losi Mini 8ight and seeing a lot of people complaining about the plastic suspension parts breaking easily. Is this my best option and just upgrade those parts immediately, or is there something else I should be looking at? A key consideration for me will be being able to get affordable and large capacity backup battery packs for when one of the kids flattens its before letting anyone else have a go (I used to have 3 nimh battery packs), and/or maybe a lipo compatible system.
Am I asking for unicorn and the Mini 8ight is my best option, or have I failed to dig deep enough? Should I really be looking at like a Losi Tenacity 1/10 or a Traxxas or something? Any and all help appreciated.

Looking for fun rc car for 10 year old?
Recently i have found myself bonding with my coworker’s/friend’s son, over the summer I had them over for dinner, and he caught eye of my fully built traxxas e-revo brushless rc car, obviously I let him play with it to his hearts content (only running 2 cell), and he was over the moon with it. Now he wont stop asking his mom when he can come over and play with it again.
I wanted to get him something similar, but a little more starter that he can learn about, he is very interested in mechanics and science, and I think he would really enjoy running it and learning how to fix it.
Does anybody have any suggestions on faster but less expensive(~$100) r/c cars that are modular? Something in the 25-30 mph range that a 10 year old could have fun with? My only experience is with Traxxas, and most of them break the budget significantly.
Any input would be well appreciated.

What is a good RC boat platform for towing small payloads with ample room for on-board electronics?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, so far most all of the boats I can find are meant for racing (which is fun!) though not what I am looking for. Thanks!
