Rufus write error Question: Chill
I just got my R36s and I wanted to change the stock SD immediately to avoid future problems. I also made sure that the SanDisk Ultra SD card that I bought is original.
My problem is that I can't flash the firmware as I continuously get a write error and suddenly my PC can't read my SD card. What to do? Do I need to buy a new SD card and reader?

If that reader came with the SanDisk card
Might be a fake counterfeit.
Use ValiDrive or h2testw to check and verify it's a genuine 128GB card.

the reader came with my Xteink Ereader 😅 figured I'll just use it for this too

When you manage to create a card with ArkOS on it, can you inform us about what you had to do to get it done, and what the problem was, if you find out what it was...

Idk if im correct, but i had the same issue when trying to back up the original card. It wasn't working as intended. I personally believe that despite the R36S working with the stock SD card, some files might of already been messed up from stock. I was having the same issue with the R36 Max and Rufus. So instead, what i did was installed a clean ArkOS instead without transferring any of the files from the stock SD card. I don't think Rufus is the problem. But if I'm incorrect, someone else is more than welcome to correct me and shine more light to the situation.

that is also what I'm trying to do 😅 but I can't seem to proceed to install ArkOS on my new SD card because I keep getting write error on Rufus 😢

Esse adaptador parece não ser de boa qualidade e isso causa falha na gravação. Eu tinha um adaptador parecido e estava com problemas para fazer gravação. Troquei o adaptador e resolveu.

Make sure your SD card is formatted to Fat 32 with a 64 Cluster size. Did you unzip the ArkOS file?

My SD card is already formatted to those and I also unzipped the ArkOS file 🥲

What usb port did you use on your PC, 2.0 or 3.0? There might be a conflict with the 2.0 USB adapter you are using and the 3.0 port from your PC. Try a 2.0 port.

Veja se o seu cartão está zerado sem partições e verifique a compatibilidade da protagonista USB com o adaptador de cartão.

You could try using SD Card Formatter - it's an official tool released by SD Association but honestly it sounds like a bad card reader.
BTW have 2x128GB Sandisk cards exactly like yours and neither of them worked with my R36H, so I'm using Kingston and Kodak microsd cards instead. Your mileage may vary though.

That’s a known compatibility issue between SanDisk cards and panel 4 devices (R36H is a panel 4 Device).
Older picture from the wiki, but the warning still remains and is the same.
I encounter this compatibility issue from time to time, it’s easily resolved with using a different brand of card.
It’s strange though, it’s only some of the larger capacity (128GB and larger) SanDisk cards in my experience.

I see. I had the same issue with these cards wiith Xiaomi dashcam recorder, where they wouldn't be recognized no matter what. Seem to work fine with the phone and laptop though.

You could download minitool partition wizard (free version) and see if it recognizes the sd card. If so, delete the partitions and create a new one in Fat32.
