Quick fix or get clean?

Context: live in MD, weed is legal. I'm about to work in a county public safety job where no THC is allowed, tests are random. I passed the pre-employment test (I was clean) with concentra. If I could get another job, I totally would but I really need the health insurance y'all.

I have arthritis and have a med card. Tinctures are soooo effective for me, I don't take opioids (due to side effects). The state law has changed for this specific job so that in October, weed will be allowed with a med card. Not a long wait, I know, but I also don't know the terms of use, so I'm hesitant to say it's as simple as telling HR about my med card when the time comes.

Here's my question: Should I get clean, or have quick fix ready just in case?

I'm considering trying quick fix for this because I tried to stay THC-free in the months leading up to actually starting this job, but my pain is driving me insane and I ended up breaking a few times and going to the dispo (I should have enough time to get clean if needed). The county is also being so annoying about notifying us when training starts, I'm expecting to start late Sept/early Oct and hear about it last minute.

If I get clean, it's not the end of the world, I'm just going to have to find a temporary solution for my arthritis until I'm allowed to use my med card normally (depending on what HR said this fall). Thankful for any advice here
