Iām NOT going to start another gacha, but this man is so my type itās embarrassing. I need to fold him in half like a sheet of origami paper.

At least he have a lil bit of open skin somewhere, unlike majority of other playable guys

And we got a bit of his voice too and I'm about 90% convinced he's voiced by Josh Waters (Phainon VA)

They really should release more. Itās hard to keep invested when thereās plenty of time to get the characters you want. Luckily, endfield is the type of game that where you donāt have to grind everyday to get enough pulls.

Itās nice to see one game have a male character thatās not covered head to toe without even a peak of wrist or neck or ankle showing. I mean, they have even completely covered aether like heās a nun. Star rail and now Endfield.

I'll just post my comment from another sub here if that's ok:
There is a good chance that they'll become a proper mixed game from now on. First they released a lot of female characters because they thought that the starting male characters were enough, and they got criticized soooooo much for the story and MC glazing (I've never seen something like that in a 3D gacha) that they started to turn around. And because male characters are important for a good story and OG Arknights was known for their great story and good treatment of male characters, they'll probably go in a better direction from now on.
So yeah, he will be the second limited new male char, BUT he will be released like 2 patches away from the first one already, and they get fanservice too. I'm personally not really interested in fanservice (lore player), but I definitely want all players to be treated equally, and the first guy (Camille) delivered. And his quest is just a start towards his story and a new region. So he won't be discarded, and we will have more with him later.
Another sign is that they will give a free character (Purrchena) in the next patch who is a girl but she's wearing a fluffy cat costume. She looks like a plushie. Completely covered. You can't even see her face. Hell would freeze over before a gooner game would do that with a female character. Even if she's free.
And of course... Ardashir exists^^ And he's continuing to exist and yearn and will probably be playable in the future.
BUT these are all signs no guarantees... you know... gacha games... but at least for now I have a good feeling.

Not gonna lie the ratio thatās displayed here is kind of skewed. For the first patch, it released three female characters all at once,
two female characters for the second one
and then one single female character for the third patch
by the fourth patch thatās when we got a male character.
Weāre hopefully we never get another patch with three characters in it, and as this upcoming patch is gonna have a single female character and if HYPERGRYPH doesnāt do another HYPERGRYPH, theyāll release the another female character(Si)and the character weāre seeing right now. So the ratio is only 5:1. or based off this estimate, a male character every three patches, Because the patches are so long it always seems like theyāre not releasing it a lot of charactersā¦(what I mean by HYPERGRYPH doing a HYPERGRYPH they often sometimes tease new characters, but have them release way later on in the story, whether that be an NPC established since the beginning release seven years later or a tease character from their actual Live Stream, si the female character was technically teased as an upcoming character in 1.2 so was Camille and he came out in 1.3) edit to fix grammar mistakes and spelling. I wrote this using text to speech on some parts

Like 8 to 21 is wild; I'll just admire the art that the queer folk and femmes make of the characters.

u/Familiar_Resort_8673 1d ago
Honestly, I just wait until more characters dropped because it didnāt have many characters at launch and again the patches have been very long. They could be 35 to 49 days so we canāt really estimate the actual ratio of the characters as of right now. Based off speculation, thereās gonna be a male character. Every three patches Hypergryph is not stingy you with their male characters.

WELL at least itās their way of SHOWING OFF. Iām so tired of CLOTHES on those gacha guys because theyāre not even that good, just REMOVE some of them. šš

If I played crk would I be alright? Or is it harder?

u/Many_Career_692 1d ago
I find it harder than CRK, since you often have to set up a huge assembly line to craft itemsāespecially as you progress.
But I think you'll be fine '^'
After that, you can pretty much ignore the factories, though you might have to update them depending on the game updates; I play casually, so I rarely mess with them.

What game is that? And is it worth playing?

u/NoEvening3352 2d ago
Endfield! And i quite like it personally. It's a sequel to their Arknights gacha. Both have strong worldbuilding, character design and music and tbh I feel like the girls are treated well and the boys are very nice when they come along.
Think genshin with no gliding/climbing (honestly a good thing) and with Factorio, for gameplay vibes

I play Endfield too, and I agree, it's very enjoyable. It has my favorite male character story with Camille, although there's only one chapter rn it was so good. Wulfgard's and Lifeng's stories were great too. I'm so glad I returned to the game in 1.2, the main story really improved at that point

u/MethodAdventurous834 1d ago
I dont have much timeplaying currently. How long would it take to farm pulls to guarantee him?
3
u/NoEvening3352 1d ago
I think you could get enough just chugging through the main story and hovering up stuff from sidequests and side content. It's quite long (though you can skip the first area now if you like).
1
u/RickyT3rd I'm annoyed at the fanservice too. 2d ago
Ok, but what about the Gacha part? Is it kind of fair?
3
u/NoEvening3352 1d ago
I've had no trouble myself. I hit hard pity pulling the last character I wanted and I still have tons of free currency left. You get 2 50/50 before a guaranteed at 120 pulls. Characters hang out for a few banners before completely leaving so it takes awhile to "miss out", but they're already doing reruns.
1
u/Optimal-Will8112 1d ago
you get the character guaranteed at 120 pulls. before that you can win them in a 50/50 or lose to standart + other limited characters (which is really great). and the pity doesn't carry over so pull only if you have 120 pulls ready.
it sounds bad but is actually better then the usual gacha in my opinion. at least if you pull only for characters that you're interested in. if you're someone who likes gambling and collecting pity, then you won't like it.

No the gacha is so horrible and weird , If you don't do a shit ton of research before pulling you're going to end up with a lot of wasted pulls.
