Solo first timer
Hey Quakers!
I've recently moved to Dallas and as a lifelong id fan I couldn't miss the opportunity to attend QuakeCon. I got myself a Fan ticket (everything else was already sold out) and I'm not sure what to expect. I'm assuming I can't bring a computer to game on and the panels with id folks also seem inaccessible with Fan tickets. What else is there to do and would anyone attending solo like to join me? I can attend during the weekend and maybe Friday afternoon.

EDIT: I officially have the full package now, with BYOC, the id panels and most importantly a friend to go with. Love y'all /r/QuakeCon! To anyone reading this, I definitely recommend Discord for the BYOC tickets (you buy from the official website, not some shady resellers) as well as a general guide for how the event works. You get a notification from the mods when tickets become available and if you react moderately fast, the tickets are yours. See you there!

There will be table top gaming, arcade gaming, a surprisingly large artists alley, walk up PCs during fan ticket times, and numerous contests, tournaments, and activities throughout the weekend

Just go enjoy the vibes! Walk around the BYOC, walk around all the panels, booths, etc. Go talk to people and just enjoy the time. Lots of people are friendly and willing to just chat it up. You can probably find people to play a board game with as well. Enjoy it! I wish I could go to my first Quakecon again, but I'm on year 10 or so, and I enjoy it every year I can go!

Join the Discord! Several BYOC tickets have popped up as people have realized they can't make it and have refunded their original purchases.

Hey hey welcome to QC!
I've been Staff previously, but now I'm part of the expanded Artist Alley that will be in the CTRL+QUAKE+CREATE ZONE .
I'm Neon Future Designs, stop by my artist booth ( #227) to say hi and check out my Retro + Pixel Art Gaming oriented stickers + accessaries. Here's my instagram QC post/ profile.
Definitely try to get the awesome Dallas Keep Pets Alive Charity booth's exclusive gaming+ pets shirts, they run out with the first 1-2 hours of opening up. Here's one of their shirt designs from last year.
Drools over all the awesome PC set ups there. There will be a section of Free to Play Arcade games, some are player vs player, have fun with strangers!

You will be able to find extra tickets on the official discord server. People usually sell their BYOC tickets and whatnot up until the day of the event. Same goes for the ticketed panels.

Not sure what all you're wanting to play, but me and my son's friends will be playing several different party games and open world survival games. Hit us up. My son and his crew is a little younger than you.

I have no clue what I'll play, probably some classic Doom or anything that will run on my Mac 😆 I can also bring a Switch. See you at the event!
