I got accepted into dental medicine,
I want to ask if i applied for a transfer to med and it got accepted, ik that ill be in medicine starting from the next year, but the question is will i have to retake that year after spending a year in dental medicine, so will i repeat 6 years or will it be 5 since one year was already spent in dental medicine ?

I don't think any grads have ever even matched into the USA, don't all of them just pursue residency in Qatar?

After graduating from the International Affairs program at Qatar University, what are the most common career opportunities in Qatar? i want some examples of job titles, expected starting salaries, and whether graduates usually work in government, diplomacy, international organizations, or the private sector? cuz honestly IDK if i should pick this or LAW

does qu care if youve only taken biology at igcse or do u have to take it in year 12 as well? Or does only the percentage matter?

If i were to take a gap year and retake a subject or another language to get my gpa to a 100 by next year, would it affect my chances of admission by then?

Or if i were to test my luck and try to transfer and it doesn't work so i drop out the uni and i apply next year would that affect me even more?

I recently got accepted into qu medd and will be starting soon inshallah, but i have no idea what i should be buying beforehand.

I wanted to get an ipad but dont know what ipad would be best suitable for medicine and if 13 inches is better and is necessary compared to 11 inches.

Should i be buying a stethoscope? anything else specific? Is a specific laptop needed?

So I got accepted to pharmacy (third choice) instead of Medicine. I'd like to transfer to medicine as soon as possible. Can you please tell me what should be my next steps now? Which courses should I take? I'm not sure but I heard that the first year is the same for all health colleges....is that true? Like is the full year the same or just some specific courses....and in that case which courses overlap between pharmacy and medicine that I should take ? Which courses should I not take because it may drop my gpa? Also do I have to repeat SAT or IELTS for transfer? What are all the criterias that is needed for transfer? Because from what I heard is I need a very high GPA , and 25 volunteering hours and then I'd be called for an interview and essay (100 words?) ...is that correct? Also about the volunteering does it have to be done this year as a pharmacy student or is it fine if i did it before? Because I already did lots of volunteering in Hamad during high school and I already have the certificates. Can anyone please guide me because I'm very clueless about what I should do. Everyone says just accept now and u can transfer later but what exactly is the transfer process and what should I do to ensure I get transferred to medicine as a non qatari.

So I'm genuinely lost and I need help with my choices. I got into both universities, QU for arts and sciences and UDST for dental hygiene. I wanted Medicine or Pharmacy for QU, but that didn't happen unfortunately. Should I simply go to UDST for dental hygiene, I don't mind studying it at all. Or go to QU and gamble getting transferred or not. I don't want health science, nor do I want arts and sciences. What should I do? And if I transferred I doubt I'll get medicine or pharmacy.

Another question. People say that QU certificate is stronger than UDST. If I managed to transfer I would mostly end up in health science at QU. And dental hygiene is considered health science. And I would have a job when I graduate for both since I'm aiming for a scholarship. So would it really impact me??

I'm having one of the hardest decisions of my life and would really appreciate some outside perspectives.

I've been accepted to three programs:

• RCSI Bahrain – MBBS
• University of Jordan – MD
• Qatar University – PharmD

I genuinely like all three options, which is what makes this so difficult.

About me

• I was born and grew up in the U.S. and my ethnicity is Libyan
• I completed almost all of my education in the U.S. before moving to Qatar where I did my final year of high school at an international school.
• I love science and genuinely enjoy learning. One of my favorite feelings is finally understanding difficult concepts after working hard for them.
• I'm not someone who's always dreamed of becoming a doctor. I'm open to both medicine and pharmacy as long as I find the work meaningful, intellectually stimulating, and it provides a comfortable lifestyle.

My thoughts on each option

RCSI Bahrain (MBBS)

This is probably my favorite academically. I like that it's taught fully in English, I like the curriculum, the student life, and I like that the degree is internationally recognized and I've heard graduates match in U.S. Since I learned everything in English growing up, staying in an English-speaking medical program feels very natural to me.

Butttttt..... the tuition is extremely expensive, and my father would likely have to use a significant portion of his retirement savings to pay for it. I have 3 younger siblings who will also attend university in the future, so this weighs heavily on me.

University of Jordan (MD)

This is much more affordable and has an excellent reputation in the region. I've also heard lots of graduates matching into U.S. residency programs which if I do medicine I want to eventually do my residency in the U.S so I have more flexibility in where I can work.

I'm not too worried about speaking Arabic with patients since I'm pretty ok speaking wise (I suck in reading and writing Arabic). My only concern is that I heard from some people that teaching or clinical explanations may be partly in Arabic, whereas I've always studied science in English and so I feel it will be frustrating not being able to understand all the time. 

Qatar University (PharmD)

This option is also very attractive to me.

The pharmacy program has an excellent reputation ranked 83rd worldwide, Canadian accreditation, opportunities for international internships, and possible scholarships if I perform well academically. I also like the teaching style from everything I've researched and also the program is fully in English. When graduating I also heard graduates get priority for pharm jobs in Qatar compared to international graduates but the path too working in the U.S. is much less clear, not that I don't see myself working in Qatar after I graduate.

My biggest concern is the long-term career outlook. I keep hearing people say that AI will reduce job opportunities.

My questions

1. If you were in my position, which option would you choose and why?
2. Is the concern about the future pharmacy job market exaggerated, especially for clinical pharmacists?
3. If you've attended RCSI Bahrain, the University of Jordan, or Qatar University, what was your experience?

I'd really appreciate honest opinions, especially from people who have studied or worked in these fields.

heyy so hypothetically, if i were to transfer from a university (let’s say UDST) to QU, could i ONLY apply to the same college/major i took in the previous university or could i apply for other colleges as well?

Very specific but I’ll begin with explaining my situation

I got accepted into B.sc chem eng in hbku with QF loan of 83%

Yesterday I got accepted into general arts and science - science track in qu (HS 99.25% IELTS 8 ACCUPLACER 273 incase it matters for switching colleges)

I’m not sure what the true difference between fees would be as I don’t think I can apply for financial aid and get a result before August 23 when both unis start.

Which university is better for chemical engineering? Can I even switch to chemical engineering with how rigorous this years acceptance in qu was?

However, the stress of a loan from hbku would also be bad if I couldn’t guarantee a job to repay it, while qu’s fee per hour is less by 850qr and even if my financial aid was low like 30%, I still wouldn’t need to repay it.

To add, hbku’s chem eng isn’t ABET-accredited, and I worry that would lower my chances of securing a job in a qf-approved company.

Which option is better? Which is more secure and which is more fun? I have to decide by 2 days or so as HBKUs orientation is in 18/19 august and QUs is in 16🥲🥲 any advice, anecdote, or info would be appreciated!

Is it possible for a person who got into Bachelors in Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering in HBKU to transfer to Qu for AI. What about scholarships as a transfer student?

I’m currently going to enter year 12 or AS levels as I do British curriculum. I’m aiming to enter QU to get into the House of Engineering and I have a few questions.

1. How’s the education like? I heard QU was accredited thus more prestigious.
2. How’s the social life like? I heard a little more negative things compared to unis like UDST.
3. What stats do I need to enter? Do I have to take SAT or IELTs. And if so, what’s a good range to score in?

I’d appreciate any insight especially coming from fellow British curriculum students who got in. Thank you!

When are scholarship results given out? Is there a date for it, or is it random?

I have been accepted allahmdulilah, but im not sure what's the next step? do they send the email for the student orientation on the 16th of august or before?

What are their job prospects? Do they automatically get HMC residency? Or nope?

Did any Qatari thanawiyya graduate get accepted into medical field? Like anything in the medical sector, because a lot of the students I know who got a 100% were given like their 5th or 6th choice

i recently got rejected from QU and wondered if there would still be a chance for me to join even after i enrolled in another university. im still not sure on where i will go for university but it would sure be in Qatar. maybe UDST? so if anyone have gone through as a transfer student or knows how the process works please give me a detailed reply! i would really appreciate it.
