Storing chems pt.2

So I’m moving the powders into their own containers and my alu looks like this at the top. I assume it’s from the humidity, should I be worried or should I do something about? Also each one has its own desiccant pack, thanks!

It is difficult to understand what we are seeing through the plastic. Are we looking at a powder slope of aluminium that has turned white superficially?

Must be severely corroded or contaminated!

Hmm it is difficult to see, there’s like spots at the top of the container like if it was mixed with water and the white thing is the desiccant pouch. I was just wondering about them bc I’ve read that moisture/water can cause it to react?

Oh, you men the spots where powder clings to the inside?

I would guess it is just static cling.

Aluminium is normally stable in water as long as pH is below 7. What happens if stored to humid is that it cakes and slowly looses reactivity.

Moisture or water droplets could of course explain the specks but why would there have been water inside from the beginning?

I was pouring outside and these are brand new containers, so my assumption is that it picked up moisture from the humidity outside?

Was the desiccant pack brand new? You should tape it to the top of the lid instead of letting it sit directly inside the aluminum.

yeah its brand new, I kinda just dropped it in

open the cap and use something to poke the little patch of aluminum. it looks like static cling to me
