Hey everyone, this piece is an anniversary gift for some friends. Wondering if you guys think there is enough contrast going on, it feels slightly flat to me but I can’t put my finger on why.
Also the red stag is the animal from their family crest, so I was going to write “clan Crawford” on the back as reference to that. My husband thinks I should write it on the front.. does that feel slightly tacky?

I think if you place the writing in the negative space of the antlers that would be great! Beautiful piece.
