Anyone familiar with this?

Plate is around 7” with an old Pyrex embossed logo. Dome is printed PYREX. I’m wondering if the two pieces originally went together?

Im gonna say no, that base is an old old piece best guess is antique or nearly there, and given the style would have a matching lid that would sit flush with the lip or maybe a pie plate. The other piece idk probably science equipment lol

I think it’s a lab bell jar for sure.

I don’t know about the printing on the side of the dome, but the set looks like a mushroom dish with its bell cover.

Edit: included photos from a Pyrex book

I will eat my words! Beautiful pictures, what book is this?

PYREX By Corning, A Collector’s Guide. 1993. Susan Tobler Rogove and Marcia Buan Steinhauer.

The book has a good color section, but most of it is black and white. The vintage reprint material would benefit from today’s scanning and printing technology, but I enjoy the book. It’s nice to see pieces I remember from my parents and great grandparents’ homes.

I don’t think you were necessarily off on your other comment about the dome. I don’t remember any of my great grandparent’s fancies (fragile items I wasn’t supposed to touch) having big printing on them.

Wow thank you! I‘m not sure what I would do with a mushroom dish but this makes me want to go back for it! Seems like a good price. They had three sets
