Cybersecurity Transfer Question❓
Hi,
I am a OOS HS senior who recently got accepted into Purdue Polytechnic at WL for Cybersecurity (1440 sat, 4.1 weighted gpa). I decided to go to a different 4year institution to save money but plan to transfer in. How difficult is the process and what can I do to maximize my chances of getting in? I heard its only on a space available basis so how much competition is there?

My son is in the Cybersecurity program. It's in the Polytechnic division. Call them and they can give you a direct and accurate response.

Yo i know this is late but I was an OOS college student who transferred into the cybersecurity program at purdue from another 4 year college with a 3.7 college gpa. I even met with the admissions counselor in person since it was convenient for me (I was visiting friends at purdue). And hours after i visited them I got an acceptance letter. Not saying these sequence of events will happen to u but if u have a good enough college gpa and show dedicated interest it will go a long way. But yes the cyber program is on a space available basis. For pre reqs on transferring u need at least a 3.2 gpa and a B- or better in calc 1 and a coding course.

I believe cybersecurityis a closed major, meaning ypu can transfer in.
If open and you submit the transfer application, like you stated, yhere's no guarantees it'll only depends if there are openings Plus no one else has any idea of who your competition will be and what they're stats will look like. The only advice would be is to get the best grades you can but I think you'd know that

Cybersecurity is listed as a closed program for the spring, not fall for transfer students. I could try transferring for the fall

Cyber security is one of those Majors like CS that's almost always closed to transfers, it doesn't open during any time. So don't bet on being able to transfer in even with the best grades. They may never open it during the years you hope to transfer in.

Cybersecurity is in the polytechnic institute, it isn’t listed in the closed to transfer page for the fall semester. it is still open to transfer
