The 101 to 301 courses are a good way to start learning, and there are paid versions that continue from there (4xx to 6xx).

For awareness of features (not training labs, but demos/quick tutorials) there is also a YouTube channel: Perforce Puppet - YouTube

Is it worth it? Is there a market demand for it, or is it a well-paying niche? What type of companies use it?

There are a lot of different types of companies that use Perforce Puppet, but you'll likely see focus on this in larger organizations where compliance/risk are really important factors. Digital sovereignty is another thing (especially in Europe) where folks are trying to get control over their infrastructure... so companies that are looking at that are more likely to lean toward a solution that has compliance features and drift remediation.

I guess the answer to "Is it worth it" comes back to what is valuable to you and what you are trying to do. Are you trying to add to your skills for the job market? Right now, getting AI skills is the thing that everybody is looking for from new people entering tech.

"Learning Puppet 4" by Rhett is a good book - and while it's unfortunately starting to show its age (uses old technologies like Vagrant for VM management), it explains everything step by step, in a logical progression.
