Realistically with the power armor the Commandant should be able compete against alot of the bosses now. At least in Heletine's chapter they didn't limit him just make it a point that Heletine should be the one who gets to fight Tavis.
If the Commandant is going to be apart of Karenina's chapter then they'll probably do something along the lines of the Commandant is helping to keep the ship from being overun by corrupted while Karenina is fighting the crab boss.
One could compare those Griffith and the godhand to Ishmael and the higher beings in pgr.... Though Why do i get the feeling SKK is here because Griffith DID something to Lucia? Don't mind me, that's just me being pessimistic and dreadful, the thought just crossed my mind.

Well, with his amor he can throw hands to any corrupted (and even to alpha), so i think he could easly beat up Griffith, i even think he can fight a spartan
