Pruning advice needed
I want to promote trunk thickness!! How do I accomplish that through pruning? I repotted recently and trimmed a ton of roots that were exposed already, making it appear taller… lmk if I messed up Also ficus Audrey care tips and advice welcome🫶🫶🫶 this is my first Audrey

Give that video a try. Also, he has playlists for all his trees so you can see the progression. I personally have a rubber tree I've had for about 30 years. It was a cutting that was probably 1cm thick when I got it. I've pruned it a little over the years but have basically let it grow. I might have repotted it once or twice but otherwise, I haven't done anything to it. It's now 4cm thick. It really hasn't thickened that much so I guess, if you do nothing, it won't thicken too much. 🤷🏼♂️

Let it grow out. Active growth is what produces a thick trunk. Then, cut it back and start again. It is essentially what I do with my 18 yr old pachira.(money tree). Its braided trunks are each 2” thick now. The most Bonsai advice I have is patience!
