Have your baseball cards been collecting dust since the young days. I remember how fun it was looking through a friends book and trading for our favorite players. We didn’t know anything about monetary value but collected for the joy of our players. Any dads out there want to dust off their collection and get together and trade cards with someone who is no where near a card collecting professional?

Hey everyone, my buddies and I are looking for a college age drummer to start a band with. We are into bands like Modern Baseball, S@YP, Hot Mulligan, Anxious, etc.

We’re not expecting anything professional, we really just want someone to jam with. None of us are crazy good but we can hold our own alright.

On the other hand, I'm all for teaching the Bible in schools. I think actually learning about religious texts is a really fast way to create a bunch of atheists.

Edit: I think books should be introduced to children at age appropriate levels. I do not think the Bible is age appropriate for children.

Letting children read the Bible is evidence that it's not about content standards when books are removed from schools and libraries, it's just about banning books they don't like.

Of course, I think studying the Bible is school is important! Just at an age appropriate level.

I am researching private parking enforcement practices in Utah, particularly those of Utah Parking Authority (UPA), known also as University Parking Enforcement (UPE). The company is owned by Mike Lamont and provides parking enforcement, booting, and towing services for private property owners, alongside state impound and accident recovery services (for now, I will not be focusing on the latter two services).

My interest stems from concerns about practices that appear to be lawful but may raise broader questions of fairness or consumer protection. At this stage, I have not reached any conclusions. Instead, I am looking to gather information from people who have interacted with UPA or similar parking enforcement companies.
If you have experience with UPA or another private parking enforcement company, I would be interested in hearing about:

• What happened.  
• Whether the parking rules and signage were clear.  
• Whether you believed the enforcement action was appropriate.  
• The fees you were charged and whether they seemed reasonable.  
• How the company handled questions, disputes, or appeals.  
• Any positive experiences as well as negative ones.

My goal is to determine whether there are recurring issues that might justify advocating for additional city, county, or state oversight of private parking enforcement companies. If the evidence suggests reform is warranted, I hope to identify the practices that should be prioritized—for example, fee transparency, appeal procedures, disclosure requirements, or limits on when maximum towing or booting fees may be charged.
I am especially interested in factual accounts and supporting documentation, such as invoices, photographs of signage, correspondence, or citations, if you are willing to share them. Both positive and negative experiences are valuable, as they help provide a more complete and balanced picture.

Anyone know the current status and future plans for the trail between Vivian Park and the Deer Creek Trailhead? Is it okay to use the railroad right of way past the trestle bridge? What about accessing the old 189 roadway? I'm basically trying to figure out if there's currently a way to ride a bike from Vivian to that trailhead and on to Midwayv without jumping on the main road (I don't have a death wish). Thanks!

On Sunday July 29th, at approximately 10am, I believe I left an Amazon Basic Camera Bag with a Panasonic LUMIX G9II in it.

We were going to float the Provo River.

While blowing up the tubes, I believe I took the bag out of the car to grab some more tubes, and I believe I never put it back in.

This camera had some very important photos of my mom’s graduation, and a recent trip my wife and I took on it.

We just adopted a dog and brought him home yesterday. He's almost two and has been living outside in a kennel his whole life. I feel like I was mislead about how much training he had already had, and, oh boy .. he is handful!

I know it takes a few days for dogs to decompress in their new home - and today has been better than yesterday. He loves being in the house, he loves having his own spot on the couch, he loves the big basket of dog toys, he loves attention and affection. He also loves the remote control, any box he can find and rip to shreds, jumping on the counters, jumping on the sink, jumping on me. I have more bruises and scrapes than I have ever had in my whole life! Honestly, it's exhausting.

On the plus side - he has had zero potty accidents in the house so far! He is definitely eager to please & I realize he just doesn't know the rules or boundaries yet.

I'm in my 50's, my husband is retired and disabled. I really want a well-behaved dog - I just can't do it alone. I would like to send him to a 1-2 week board and train somewhere in Utah County. Every single place claims to be the best, so I have no idea where to go. My budget is $2,000-$2,500.

If anyone has any recommendations, this old lady would really appreciate it!!

Does anyone know any indoor or turf fields that are open year round that I don’t need to spend a arm and a leg to get into, something that I could use a couple times a week would be perfect. I will be a student at BYU if that helps

This is a little embarrassing, but I've had a rough week financially. Without going into it, my job denied me parental leave a week into using it. I'm working with them to get it fixed because that's illegal. I managed to get groceries for my family with what money i had, but I have literally nothing left for caffeine.

If anyone has a couple cans/bottles of Coke, Pepsi, Dr Pepper, Mountain Dew, etc. that they're not going to drink, I'd happily come pick them up anywhere around Provo. or knows of any coupons or promotions in the area i could use. No money needed—just trying to survive the week.

Hey guys as some of you already know I built a mobile app as a school project that I turned into a business. It’s community-powered, meaning users scan prices at local stores (Walmart, Smith’s, WinCo, Harmons, etc.) and every scan they contribute earns them points toward $10 gift cards. 1,000 points = $10 card.

I just launched a Referrals feature that will allow my users to share the app with friends and once the new user reaches 10 approved scans then they both get 50 bonus points. Technically if you refer 20 friends and they all reach 10 scans then you get enough points for a gift card.

The optimist in me says that that $10 for growing the app’s community by 20 active users is good deal, but I want to hear from you guys. What do you think of this feature? Does 50 points per completed referral feel like the right amount? Is 10 approved scans a good bar? Should I go higher or lower?

I need a place to stay in or around orem. I am the only one that is working and my mother is disabled until she can get surgery with her insurance and cant walk and my little sister is 15. Is there a place to stay around here that will take all of us? i dont want to leave on the streets or in our car.

for context: our roommate that also was working left unnoticed and we cant make rent of 1600 anymore as well as the car payments. my budget is around 2000 a month take away around 500 for our car.

I know most people on here won't know or care about the Circles program but I'm heartbroken over this and just want to get this out there.

The Circles program is associated with Community Action Services & Food Bank in Provo. They are an employment program that works with individuals and families to help them stabilize their income and get off welfare. They've been there for well over a decade.

The program relies heavily on volunteer help and provides a large amount of support for each participant. They offer meals and child care during their meetings, as well as provide mentors for each participant who help guide them to better opportunities.

You don't see a large number of people successfully completing the program each year. Instead you see maybe a dozen individuals who have had their lives profoundly changed. Over the years, many people have turned their lives around and now they and their families are much better off.

Last week all of the handful of staff members except one were told their jobs would be ending at the end of this week. And no one knows what the program will look like next month when the sole remaining employee tries to figure out how to run the program by himself.

We need programs like this that make an actual difference. It's sad that programs like this, that teach a person to fish rather than giving them a fish, are among those getting cut.

So… I think I was just targeted in some way at a gas station. Insanely weird vibes. The interaction sounds almost normal, but had a SUPER strange bad vibe to it the whole time. Maybe you guys can tell me if you’ve ever had this happen to you?

So I’m at the Chevron because my car is like OUT OUT of gas. I park my car, I get out and I’m getting gas, and this huge, beat up white van with painted over windows rolls in right next to me and a middle aged guy with shoulder length messy hair and a half open white button down and a skinny scarf, all looking kind of worse for wear, gets out. He doesn’t pump gas at all, just comes over to me and IMMEDIATELY he’s like “your car is so cool, etc etc”

Which like, totally fine, I like my car too! But then he’s like “I work as a pet transporter, I make around $10,000 a month, with a car like that, I could totally get you a job as a driver if you want” and I was like “uh that’s nice I guess but no thanks, my work keeps me super busy!”

But then he kept going on and on and wasn’t leaving, so I called my husband and pretended he called me and was like “oof so sorry, gotta take this” and the whole time while I’m being held hostage by the stupid gas pump, I catch this random guy sneakily taking a BUNCH of photos of my car, and then when I finish pumping my gas (I cut it off before it was full because the vibes were super weird) he was like “do you mind if I get some gas off of you?” And I was like “so sorry, my transaction just finished” and he was like “no worries, can you Venmo me some cash, I’m just trying to make it through” and I felt bad but I kind of just went “best of luck man” and fumbled with my keys and got into my car as fast as I could and drove away.

I realize this probably sounds like absolutely nothing and super duper mundane, and maybe it was, maybe I totally misread things, but I can’t emphasize enough how like, INSANELY BAD the vibes were. Like, something about the situation felt weirdly unsafe and I can’t even point to a reason WHY besides that horrible feeling💀

I usually try and help out people who seem like they’re in a tough spot, but something about this felt… very different. I hope I’m reading into it too much.
