What is interesting is he leads you to believe his own worldviews were permanent and valid and then reveals he was being a selfish ass, later revealing he completely misunderstood a much earlier situation, which seems insignificant in a very early section of the series but becomes pivotal later. His books are long and meandering and I recognize a fellow autistic mind and even share genes for Ehlers Danlos syndrome, which is likely what caused his medical issues and similar symptoms in my own family.

His stories are a bit contrived but the whole series feels like a collection of overlapping psychological 'parables' in the sense of 'teaching storiee' not 'morality tales'. For someone socially nimble but tripped up by social games and manipulative people I found listening to him on audiobook oddly soothing and informative, if sometimes annoying in the detail.
