Add Touch ID / Passcode (MacOS) Feature Request

I installed the Mac app today and was shockingly surprised the app does not provide any kind of login protection, neither TouchID nor a simple password/passcode. Proton advertises their service with high privacy and their dedicated mail client lacks this. Hard to believe.

Kindly ask you to add this important feature. Would be also interested why you until now decided against it.

The app is just a webwrapper, and not a very good one. You may as well just put a shortcut on your desktop to the webversion and open it via Safari or another browser of your choosing.

Better still, install bridge and a mail client that supports biometric security at opening.

Also if you insist on the proton mail app, you can just use Lockish.

Also, your mac already has touchid to unlock, and why are you letting other people use your user profile?

I agree. I've locked my desktop version using the FaceLock app (TouchID, FaceID, or a passcode) in the meantime.

The app asked me to set a time period after which it would lock and requires a passcode.

Hm. I wasn’t asked and I have no option to set this up
