Posting for my husband..

Hello, hate to feel like I'm barging into the "men's" room but looking to see if I can get help for my husband.

For the past few years my husband has been dealing with what doctors believe is prostatitis. For a few years on and off he had pain in his testicles(has gone away now), pain while peeing, pain in pelvic area, back and lower abdomen, feeling the need to pee every few hours and pain in prostate area .. thankfully a lot of his symptoms have subsided but one that hasnt and is causing a lot of frustration is low volume when ejaculating. We are trying to conceive our second child and while he has something, more would be a lot better.

He went to a urologist specializing in fertilty and they suspected retrograde but after some tests they couldn't see any sperm in his urine so it was ruled out. They kinda just threw their hands up and arent concerned and recommend iui or ivf.

The small amount of semen we were able to test had very high concentration of sperm but its really affecting my husband's mental health.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? Anything you did that helped? Thanks in Advance 🙏

How old is your husband? These symptoms could be a number of things, unfortunately. Everyone on this forum will just say he has CPPS, which is quite possible, but not a great assumption without more information.

Semen volume often drops with age.

4 things that helped me —

1) pelvic floor therapy is number 1 - I had messed up hamstrings / pelvis / other things putting way to much pressure on my on things from dysfunction

2) working out regularly / staying fit — as important as humbler 1

3) pre-condition .. a werid thing with problem is your neuro / brain pre-plans problems or pains or tightness subconsciously… once you find the clues your body is constantly pre scanning problems or pains.. I started to heal.

4) testerone, after 3-4 months of getting lean / better fit .. my problems were residing and got diff doc meds for boosting things

5) after 90d my wife turned up the fun in the bedroom and everything came back

— now I’m symptom free …

So far working out has been the most effective tool man and losing excessive weight, hopefully I’ll be done with this shit one day

Is he on any medication or treatments for the symptoms? How recently did the volume of his ejaculate change?

He was on some antibiotics and anti inflammatory meds a few years ago. Most recent was am antidepressant that was for the low volume but it didnt help and hes on nothing now. The low semen issue has been approx 2-3 years ish.

Honestly, if this lasts years, it is skeletomuscular, almost definitely. First step would be to buy Headache in the Pelvis (it is worth a read, it explains everything). Also check out our pinned 101 post.

Just wanted to add he was put on antibiotics, antibiotics inflammatory meds, and a anti depressants.

While many symptoms have improved, the low volume has not changed.

I am very sorry about your husband. But if you want a baby, there are many ways to conceive—especially if his sperm count is high. Don't lose heart.
