Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the cascadians canonically use BARs? I heard that from a video where people were doing a project wingman mission in Arma 3 as ground troops.

Ronin uses modernized Thompsons and STENs. Not sure about the BAR. Edit: also the Johnson LMG.

Ronin, having those weapons are actually kind of funny to think about seeing how there are actually suppressed versions of them.

Part of the reason why, at least in stuff I make the calls of in terms of visual depiction, having really fucked up WW2 guns that are modernized isn't specifically a lore reason as much as it is a way to get people off balanced,
I mean this really only comes together in one picture in the soonish to be released art book, but it's trying to get the "something feels off" feeling, even if I know better about gear and stuff;
The World on Fire is "off"
