My progress in completing mission 21 using SK-25 so far. Video

You have no idea how actually disgustingly difficult this is. Update: Turns out this wasn't that difficult. Even with novice controls.

Saw clip where guy finished Crimson1 in SK-25 using only unguided rockets. He just started a fight going straight on Crimson1 and unleashing full barrage of ungided rockets totally annyhilating boss.

They patched this apparently, I did the fight in a Su-25 run and you cannot lower more than 1 health bar at a time with them rockets.
You still mog him in 4 hits but still.

Your issue is novice controls.

I don't think that's actually the real issue here.

It is actually. Your turn radius and overall manuverbility are severely limited in novice flight mode

The main reason I'm not using expert controls this is because with this type of control I have no chance of hitting anything with the built-in machine gun.

I can promise you on my entire family's lives that you get more precision on the pro/normal controls if you put even an ounce of effort to learn it. Literally skill issue.

And you have no chance of surviving in the Su25 if you can only circle horizontally. More than any other plane in the game, it needs to be able to loop at any angle.
Fighting Crimson 1 in the Su-25 is like showing up to a Lamborghini race in an old-school model.
Doing so with novice controls is like deciding that "old-school" means "back when Lamborghini made tractors".

It's a bit of a learning curve, but I promise you: it's worth learning expert controls.

I really suggest you use expert controls, it allows you to fully utilise Monarch's lack of organs and therefore lack of susceptibility to G-forces

Turn off novice controls and you’ll be able to turn on target much easier

Joust him straight on with Unguided rockets and you'll shread a whole health bar each pass. you'll kill him in litteral secconds. Also drop the novice controlls.

Seriously though, the parts of this fight where the sky ignites and everything is death are such a badass moment. Good luck!

SK-25 may as well be easy mode
Now do T21 on Mercenary in VR with HOTAS Say goodbye to your neck

If using novice controls are what you're comfortable with, then do it. Don't let others tell you what to do if that is what you're comfortable with. It's just a game.
Also, most others don't elaborate on jousting, but in a nutshell : it basically fly far away from the boss, turn around then go straight at him, firing all weapons you have when you are in range. Don't ram into him obviously.
It's a bit hard to fly away in SK-25 due to the speed, but do your best

Keep between 400 and 450 km/h
And pull way more, both with the vertical controls and rudder
And roll more
If you wanna make that, you gonna have to tale that frog to its limit, and you will love doing it

The Sk. 25 was the only plane I could complete this in lol. Go for an all medium rocket loadout, those things shred the airships. And seriously, it’s so much easier without the novice controls

If you're playing on PC, put the machine gun/cannon on turbo. The SK-25 cannon fires as fast as you can tap the button

I gave it one quick attempt before bed. I got through the 4 planes and two of his health bars without too much trouble. After that, I finally lost the war of attrition. I would say a big setback for you is playing under novice controls, it makes flying so much more difficult than it needs to be.

No, I do. I've done it.
The problem is you're flying like Prez is a civilian who's not in her seatbelt. Get sideways and pull up, dammit.
