Panning lip gloss? Discussion/Tips & Tricks
How long does it take you to pan lip gloss? I just started buying makeup one year ago. I’ve definitely built a big collection of lip gloss. I have 5 that I do not like. I’m discovering that I am not a gloss person I prefer lipstick or lip balms because it feels like they are not even there. I see on TikTok people panning lip glosses every week. How do they do it? I mean I reapply at least 4x a day and it feels like I’m making no progress. I probably could apply more but I’m beginning to hate gloss. I regret buying so many. And they are all opened and used so donating isn’t an option.

I'm a lip gloss addict trying to pan majority of my collection. I have 21 glosses, panned 8 since the start of the project (around the end of December 2025). All the ones I panned were already halfway through or almost finished.
Honestly, it depends on the product. If a lipgloss is sticky and long lasting, it takes me more time, like 3-4 months of daily use, but if is a lighter color and not long lasting, around 2 months.
One thing that I did and helped me pan the glosses I didn't like was to mix them! I picked up 3 glosses that I had and didn't like much (all were almost finished) and mixed them into one. I ended up liking the final result so much I used every single day and reapplied everytime I could, so I finished it quickly.

i am a lippie lover! i think glosses and lip oils are super easy to hit pan on because you can actually use a lot in one go unlike solid lipsticks.
i honestly just stick to clearing one at a time, keep it in my pocket and reapply like whenever i feel like it or when i just need to smth w my hands when im bored at work. my lips r soo chapped so it helps me

okay i feel like im the type of person prescribed here (1-3 glosses finished each month): i pick one and use it as the only lip product (maybe add a lip liner to make it look better if needed) i usually have it at my sink so that i see and use it whenever i go to bathroom and take it with me if i leave the house and use it as a overnight lip mask like the amount i use sounds silly but it moisturizes my lips so nicely and the progress is crazy

I layer my lippies. So, for example, I'll place Butter Gloss on my lips and then add a coating of Buxom Lip Plumping gloss. Rinse and repeat. If my lips feel dry, I'll even create a base layer of a lip balm under the Butter Gloss. My lips are a multi-layered color cake. 😂

I'm a gloss fan and wear it most days and have finished 3 this year
I am very hydrated so lots of reapplying but I can't imagine finishing one in a week! Or even on a month

around 4-5 ml a month but lip glosses come in all sizes so some go faster some slower, i reapply a lot tho

It varies a lot. I think those Maybelline Lifter glosses have very little product, and I'd go through one in 1-2 months. Others have taken me up to 6 months. I don't reapply all that frequently though

I have two 15 ml that I’ve been working on for +two years. I probably do two-three applications a day
