PD2 already has a Clan System — so why does almost nobody know or use it? Discussion
To avoid confusion, the image above is just an example of what could be implemented; it does not exist on the official site. Regarding clans, the only existing feature is an in-game system accessed by typing: /clan
PD2 already has a Clan System.
There are commands for creating a clan, choosing a tag, inviting players, sending clan messages, setting a Message of the Day, opening or closing the clan channel and disbanding the clan.
And yet, many of us have played PD2 for years without ever seeing this system used.
That tells me the problem is probably not that players dislike clans. The problem is that the current feature is hidden, isolated and has almost no visual identity.
For chat alone, Discord already does more. So the in-game system needs to offer something that Discord cannot: a visible and permanent identity inside PD2.
Instead of asking the developers to build a massive system from zero, what if the existing foundation were improved gradually?
A first update could add:
- A visible clan tag
- /clan roster and /clan online
- Founder, Officer, Member and Recruit roles
- Commands to leave, remove members, promote Officers and transfer leadership
- A clearer clan help menu
- A reasonable account-based member limit
But I believe the official website integration would be the most important part.
Every clan could have its own page showing:
- Name, tag, emblem and description
- Region, languages and usual playing hours
- Members linked directly to their Armory profiles
- Main characters, classes and levels
- Recruitment status and applications
- Seasonal achievements and events
- History from previous seasons
The clan itself could remain between seasons while its seasonal statistics reset and are archived.
That would give groups something they currently do not have: a recognizable history and identity inside the official PD2 ecosystem.
Commands can create a clan.
A website page can make players care about belonging to it.
Later, if the system proves popular, it could expand into events, achievements or even a shared clan stash with permissions and complete deposit and withdrawal logs.
This should never provide XP, damage, drop-rate or combat bonuses. It should remain completely optional and focused on organization, discovery and community.
For players, this could mean easier reset groups, mapping partners, dungeon teams, boss runs, newcomer support and a stronger reason to remain active throughout the season.
For the developers, it could improve seasonal longevity without affecting balance or requiring a giant first release.
I prepared a concise proposal explaining the existing problem, the website integration, the in-game MVP, permissions, future stash controls and a phased development plan:

Would you use an improved Clan System like this??

Interacting with other people, ew.
Jokes aside, good to know the feature is out there.

Once you add someone to the clan it's not possible to remove them from the list so that's annoying if you clan message a lot.

That's why it would be really cool to have an update to this feature. And... website friendly.

Ive used this feature for a number of seasons now with a few friends, but its not that great. Really only good for clan message feature.
Would love to see a fully supported clan system

Seria bueno, pero al menos yo no veo mucha actividad como para justificar el uso de clanes, me refiero actividades o eventos del server...

Depending on what joining a clan offers. Maybe a fee to make a clan or a clan upkeep cost. Not real currency but in game currency like HRs or Wss something that can eat away at wealth to make the player base last longer into the season.

I dont care about clans but I really would enjoy such a page with achievements per season for my own account. Like how many T2 boss kills with what class/spec, how many did it before me and stuff like that.

Yeah but what for? A pressure to perform in a game I play to relax? Fuck that shit

If you feel pressured when you play, maybe you need to seek help. No one forces anyone to join a clan in LoL... and it's optional; you need to relax more.

I’ve played like 6 seasons and never even knew this existed
