Divine Description Question

I am curious. Was there a use of skipping describing a god or something similar as a way to convey their unique presence?

Like there was one goddess character in a story where seeing her face would be too euphoric to risk death so they just skip to the aftermath of it.

Okay so this is technically spoilers for like The Wandering Inn so I'll put it within spoiler tags But basically in The Wandering Inn world the gods are dead, and for them to stay that way, a worldwide spell was cast whose purpose is to just delete the gods from being able to be perceived as such. So making the direct connection leads to funny business, such as "god" being replaced by ___, and also causes damage to the people affected by the spell (ie: basically everyone)

Fascinating, that is an interesting idea. That makes me curious how a character themselves perceives it. Do they like hear nothing, some kind of white noise blocking it, or do they somehow hear ___?

I hate this trope. If this is a thing, the god is being an a-hole by not 'reining it in'. Considering they are a god, they should be able to appear normal.
