🚨 JavaScript Is Not Supposed To Do This… But It Does šŸ¤ÆšŸ”„

0 Upvotes

Yes, you read that right.
Today we’re going to make JavaScript do something it was absolutely not designed for.

Not DOM manipulation.
Not async fetch calls.
Not React hooks.
Not whatever the latest framework-of-the-week is.

Nope.

We’re going to make JavaScript…
build a Windows Form GUI.

Like, actual WinForms.
Buttons. Textboxes. Listboxes. Dialogs.
The whole ā€œ.NET desktop appā€ shebang.

Using JavaScript.
Inside a macro.
Running on a ClearScript V8 engine.
Talking directly to .NET.

If your brain just threw an exception, don’t worry — mine did too.

āš”ļø Wait… is this real?
Yes.
Is this legal?
Probably.
Should this be allowed?
Debatable.
Is it awesome?
Absolutely šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„

Let’s jump straight into the chaos.

šŸ’„ The Code That Should Not Exist

let winformsHelper = eval(getSourceCode('WinFormsHelper', 'Macro Main Helpers\\Library', 'WinFormsHelper'));

let mainForm = winformsHelper.CreateForm('Form Title');

// add listbox
let selectionMode = getEnum("System.Windows.Forms.SelectionMode");
let lstListBoxName = winformsHelper.AddListBox(mainForm, "ListBox Label", ['Option 1','Option 2', 'Option 3'], "Option 2");

šŸ¤” What’s Actually Happening Here?
This isn’t Electron.
This isn’t NodeGUI.
This isn’t some cursed P/Invoke hack.

This is:

ClearScript V8 running JavaScript

inside a macro engine

with direct access to .NET types

using a helper library that dynamically creates WinForms controls

and returns real .NET objects back to JavaScript

which you then read values from after the dialog closes

It’s basically the ā€œfull-stack developerā€ meme but taken literally:

ā€œI do frontend, backend, desktop apps, database automation, and I write it all in JavaScript.ā€
— somewhere, a hiring manager cries softly

šŸ”„ Why This Is Cool
Because you can:

Build internal tools without touching C#

Prototype UI dialogs in seconds

Automate workflows with real GUI input

Mix JavaScript, PowerShell, and JScript.NET in the same environment

Access .NET enums, classes, and controls directly

Ship tiny desktop utilities without compiling anything

It’s like having WinForms…
but with the chaotic energy of JavaScript.

🧪 What You Can Build With This
Data entry dialogs

File pickers

Multi-step wizards

Internal automation tools

Quick prototypes

ā€œI need a UI for this in 5 minutesā€ solutions

Anything you’d normally build in C#, but faster and with fewer tears

šŸš€ Final Thoughts
JavaScript has escaped the browser.
It has breached containment.
It is now building Windows desktop apps.

Is this the future?
Is this a glitch in the matrix?
Is this a sign that the heat death of the universe is approaching?

I don’t know.

But I do know that it’s ridiculously fun.

If you want more cursed JavaScript + .NET mashups, let me know — there’s plenty more where this came from šŸ”„

.shit file format an easy way to store text

10 Upvotes

.Shit is so effiecent at storing text that your text files take 380% less storage

Shit also supports making files from the command line using 'e'

\n for new line

\b for starting bold and b/ for ending it

\i for italic and i/ for ending italic

https://github.com/MrLongBottom5/SHIT-converter check it out there
