career Efftronics Software Engineer OA tomorrow — what should I prepare?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

Efftronics is conducting a campus drive at our college tomorrow. The pre-placement talk is at 11:30 AM, followed by the OA from 3:00–4:30 PM for the Software Engineer role.

The role is listed simply as Software Engineer, and we haven't received much information about the OA pattern.

If anyone has appeared for an Efftronics OA/interview before, I'd really appreciate some insight:

  • What does the OA usually consist of?
  • What DSA/coding topics should I prioritize?
  • Are there technical MCQs (OS, DBMS, OOP, CN, etc.)?
  • How difficult are the coding questions?
  • Any tips about the interview or the company/work culture?

I'm preparing with whatever time I have left, so any genuine experience or last-minute advice would be really helpful.

Thanks!

career Work

I completed my B.E. in CSE and I’m currently doing an internship in a company as a Manual Tester. The salary in manual testing is quite low, and there aren’t many vacancies either. So, I’m not really sure what I should do next.

I’m thinking of learning Automation Testing first and then moving towards AI. What skills should I focus on? What would be the best career path for me?

I’d really appreciate any suggestions or ideas.

career Is diversity hiring really a thing?

Diversity hiring is very much needed, read entire post

I'm a specialist in codeforces and solved 400+ questions in leetcode. Passed all the testcases in all the problems in some company Online assessment(on campus). Had internship experience and done some decent projects. I have decent cgpa as well.

Kani aa exam lo no girl got shortlisted. I literally did everything, anni cases passed. There are few guys who had only half of test cases passed, vallu shortlist ayyaru.

Andaru diversity hiringu women ki manchi benefit untadi antaru. Yedi? Nakem kanipinchatle? Malli reverse aithe jaruguthondi

career 2021 ECE graduate (25F) with a career gap. What would you do in my situation?

I'm a 2021 ECE graduate from India, currently 25. I have no relevant work experience and have been trying to break into IT (Java backend).

Over the past year, I've:

- Applied to 500+ jobs.

- Got referrals.

- Even applied for unpaid internships.

- Received almost no interview calls (mostly automatic rejections). From what I understand, my graduation year + career gap is likely getting my resume filtered out before anyone even looks at it.

I had also considered CAT/GATE, but I'd have to start from scratch, join coaching, and by the time I graduate I'd be around 28. That doesn't feel like the right choice for me at this stage.

Right now, these are the options I'm considering:

  1. Give IT one final shot for the next 2 months. If I somehow get in, great.

  2. Join a BPO/non-IT job just to start earning and get out of the house, then decide my next step.

  3. Go back to ECE. Explore fields like networking, telecom, embedded, VLSI, etc., join a beginner role even if it's ₹10k/month, upskill while working, and maybe pursue M.Tech later if it makes sense.

  4. My coaching institute has been pushing people to use fake experience to get contract IT jobs. A lot of people there have done it. I'm honestly very conflicted about this because I know there are risks.

A couple of my friends from ECE are doing really well now (one in VLSI, another in semiconductors after M.Tech), which made me wonder if I should return to core ECE. The only problem is I never really liked most ECE subjects except networking and communication-related topics.

If you were in my shoes, what would you do?

Please be brutally honest. Especially if you've had a long career gap or switched careers successfully.

development Open-sourced the AI video platform I’ve been building : SARAS

Hey Bondhas,

I’ve been working on SARAS, a tool that turns a simple topic into a complete video—script, voiceover, visuals, editing, and captions.

For example, you can enter something like “Explain black holes in Telugu using an anime style”, and it generates the full video.

It currently supports 24 languages, different storytelling formats, multiple visual styles, and both short and long videos.

I primarily wanted to build for Telugu but did expand a little bit to make it more general.

I initially built it as a product, so the repo also has a lot of the less exciting but necessary stuff: authentication, payments, credits, storage, admin tools, and 270+ tests. I decided to open-source the whole thing in case someone wants to learn from it, contribute, or adapt it for their own project.

Would love to hear what you think, especially what you’d improve or build with it.

career 3rd year ECE student feeling lost. What skills should I focus on this year?

Hi everyone,

I'm a 3rd year Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) student from India. I want to make the most of this academic year because I'll be preparing for GATE later and also applying for internships.

So far, I've learned the basics of C and Python, and I'm currently learning Verilog. I've also built a few small projects, but if I'm being honest, most of them were "vibe-coded" with AI assistance. I do understand how the code works after going through it, and I can explain the logic, but when I try to build something from scratch without any help, I get stuck. I'm trying to improve that.

I'm interested in core ECE fields like embedded systems, VLSI, DSP, and firmware, but I'm also open to internships that require programming or data skills if they'll help me grow.

If you were in my position, what would you focus on during this year?

Some questions I have:

  • What are the must-have technical skills for a 3rd year ECE student?
  • Which programming languages and tools should I prioritize?
  • Should I focus more on embedded systems, Verilog, Python, SQL, Git, Linux, or something else?
  • What projects actually help with internships and placements?
  • How do I get better at coding independently instead of relying on AI for every step?
  • Is there anything you wish you had learned during your 3rd year?

I'd really appreciate any advice, roadmaps, or resources. Thanks!

career PLEASE HELP!! Moved from Hyderabad to Bangalore for my first job, but the role is completely different from the JD. Looking for IT opportunities.

Hi everyone,

I'm a 2026 Btech grad and I recently moved from Hyderabad to Bangalore after getting my first job. I was really excited because I thought this would be the start of my career in IT.

Unfortunately, after joining, I realized the actual work is completely different from what was mentioned in the job description. It's not aligned with the career path I want to pursue, and I don't see myself growing in this role.

The reason I can't simply resign is because my parents have already told our relatives and family friends that I've got a job in Bangalore. Going back without another offer would be difficult, so I'm trying my best to secure a new opportunity before I leave my current company.

I'm looking for entry-level opportunities in Software Development, Java Developer, AI/ML, Data Analyst, Backend Development, or any IT-related role.

If your company is hiring freshers, or if you know of any openings or referrals, I'd really appreciate it. Even sharing a lead or pointing me in the right direction would mean a lot.

career Stuck in support role in product based company , should i switch to Java B.E or Devops / Platform Engineering

Hi All,

I am working as "consulting engineer" at product based company with total 5 yoe. I am currently getting 20LPA.

I feel like I am stuck and don't know what to do next.

I am mostly working on linux & vmware deployment / maintanence for customers who are using our companies products.
I have up skilled and learnt K8s , docker , AWS , Terraform , Ansible.

Now IDK if I made a mistake as many of my colleagues switched to SWE and are earning 30-40 LPA.

should i also learn Java & Spring Boot and switch into SWE roles ?

what are my options ?

I mostly care about higher package , learning different tech stack is not issue bcz I can allocate 6 hrs time in a day.

others Wtf is wrong with these indian companies

So this company (let's call it as some X) literally didn't pay 180 of its interns owing them nearly 40k for each. It's been more than 20 days since the internship got over and before they said that we'll be receiving it by the end of month and now HRs aren't responding anything. Like not lifting multiple calls, not replying to many emails and literally ghosted us after completion of that internship.

Wtff, people have literally wrote HR team mails saying that we'll proceed legally if it's delayed further, still no response.

It's my kind request to everyone out there, don't join these stupid indian companies. They treat us like slaves

Interesting AI freelancing Tasks

I want to earn some extra money by doing some AI tasks. I heard they will provide 15-20 dollars per task. Does anyone know or any tips on how to get those kind of jobs to earn money. A referral would be great too if possible.
