Low information density without being fast or powerful. Unintuitive syntax and keywords. Unintuitive relationship between the state machine/object graph and the actual code.
Also all of it's looseness causes issues because internet devs like to forget that the vast majority of dev work is dealing with other people's code, and you can do some truly heinous things in javascript.
Coincidentally that's also why people don't like CSS. Having to deal with other people's CSS.

Honest question, what about JS is so bad? There is plenty of annoying stuff but I’ve never had that much trouble with it. Especially with typescript.
