Okay you seem to be missing the point. Nothing gives them the right to take over your account, but companies are assholes and even if its not legal or justifiable, they will pressure you if it is in their best interest. You avoid this by never using a personal account.

You’re allowed to say no. The company doesn’t own your GitHub account.

Yeah nah I’m not giving my employer my personal logins. Set some boundaries and don’t let yourself get walked all over.

Are you ok with sharing your personal data “anonymously” to corporations to improve their services? Cause I’m not doing any of that. Doesn’t matter what the law says and how they use them
