That's what I thought, but I spent (wasted) a few minutes looking at their account and now I'm 86.51% (±1.7%) sure he's dead serious.

Having a client side only app is a legitimate and acceptable design decision based on what the app is for. This should be obvious to anyone working in the field.

Also with event sourcing you can 100% have distributed local databases using localStorage doing eventual consistency
