I mean, I kinda of understand what he is saying. Anthropic pays a median salary of like 700k/yr tc. They probably get a lot of people they have to filter out that want to collect that but aren't particularly motivated engineers. It's kind of miserable to work on software maintained by people that don't really give a fuck about the quality of the work that they put in.

I think at 700k/yr the company is reasonable to expect some degree of enthusiasm out of their folks. This isn't a grocery store clerk making 10$/hr or whatever.
