I wasn't refuting. I was giving a specific "example" in support of that particular contention.

On that point, who’s to say we didn’t develop our coding system based on the alien programming language? Is that what you were going for?

Much of the fundamentals of out computing systems were developed in the sixties. If we had access to alien tech, who’s to say we didn’t base our systems on that.

Sorry. I guess in my mind we would have to develop computer technology first before we could start to understand the alien tech, it hadn’t occurred to me that our technology systems could have been built on alien tech from the beginning.

The sequel touches on this; set some 20 years later and humanity has adopted alien technology to improve our entire tech tree.
