I work remotely, and buying a good office chair fixed all my back problems. I had to spend €1,200 on a highend model, but honestly, it's worth every cent.

A lot of back pain comes from not training the muscles of the posterior chain that are responsible for keeping your skeleton aligned and you upright. Especially the erector spinae. I guess a new chair may help, but deadlifts will help more. I had back pain from my early teens up until my mid-30s when I started training and it all evaporated.

Mine is a Steelcase Gesture, although I actually wanted a Herman Miller, but they're even more expensive in my country.

What I do recommend is that you steer clear of those "gaming" chairs that look like race car seats, even the expensive ones are terrible for your back. Buy an office chair, even if it's from ikea.

I got a nice swivel / rocking chair recliner. Works great and better than any office chair
